I guess I just dont understand.

1/2 hour before her death, her mom and sis spoke to her, and all said "she seemed perfectly normal to me"

The morning of her death, her daughter, and members of her team spoke to her and said "she seemed normal to me"

The night before her death, she was at a Grammy party, interrupted someone elses song, was so drunk (or whatever) she had to be escorted from the club. She was photographed with blood running down her leg, unable to walk under her own power without holding on to someone, slurred words, confused and disorderly and all of her friends and family said "she was CELEBRATING! she seemed normal to us!"

The week before she was beligerant and rude to her own staff, and was partying like she was nominated for a grammy. She had been starting a movie project called "sparkle" and was celebrating the return to the silver screen. Her family said her mood was joyous, and she was on top of the world. She seemed NORMAL to them!

What part of ANY of this woman's behavior was NORMAL? I got so angry when MJs family said the same thing. What part of needing propophol to sleep is NORMAL? She was surrounded by friends, family, loved ones, sisters, mother, daughter and a team of professionals. Didnt ANYONE learn ANYTHING from Michael Jackson?

I blame her family for not stepping in between her and the devil that was destroying her. Allowing bad behavior will only get you more bad behavior. How many celebrities must die before we get the idea that "she was acting normal" is a dangerous statement? When that type of behavior becomes "normal" we have become too twisted to be our sisters keeper. Didnt she has ONE friend, ONE family that was willing to step in, go toe to toe and do what it took? ONE? Why was she allowed to suffer to death? IMHO she was in pain for years, decades, and did it alone.

RIP whitney. I guess I just dont understand how you could be surrounded by folks that love you so much, and yet no one could hear you screaming.

So are you referring to my statement If so, I certainly did not say anything bad about Whitney. I was simply putting the facts out there. Yes, Whitney had a wonderful voice - no doubt about it. But ---- Dolly's writing and singing the song way back in 1974 had lots to do with my personal life at that time. Yes, I go way back. So if you are referring to me I find it a bit unfair since I never said anything bad about Whitney.

I've followed Whitney since she sang on the Merv Griffin show. Lots of people blame bobby Brown for being her downfall, but Whitney had her own set of issues before him. She had great a talent and I think it came with great responsibility which was too much for her to handle. She did an interview on tv a few years back where she basically blamed any substance abuse on the business she was in. She said sex, drugs, and rock & roll, that was the business.

I'm truly saddened and love her songs from The Bodyguard. Kevin Costner brought the song "I Will Always Love You" to the movie. She didn't make too much money from that song since Dolly Parton wrote it but that and the National Anthem were her 2 best performances in my opinion.

I hope the toxicology report comes back with some answers ....then some of the speculation at least can be put to the side. A person with a troubled past is always marked - never free from the spector of resumed drug use. Until I hear otherwise, I'll choose to to believe she was just having fun at the events in the previous days. Her friends and family say she was dancing and singing in a hot, sweaty club - wouldn't anyone look disheveled?? Anyway...I thought the grammy tributes were well done. Jennifer Hudson did a beautiful job. LL set the tone at the beginning very nicely, too.

I heard on TV this morning that she was under water when they found her, but her lungs weren't filled with water...which indicated to the ME that she'd died before slipping under.

We're all human, with many flaws and weaknesses. What I feel sad for is that that wonderful, heavenly voice is now gone from the Earth.

I had a thread pop up about her. There was zanax in the room with another unidentified medication. (according to this news agency) personally I didn't know alchohol and zanax could take a life like that. I think this dark road she traveled may have started with Mr. Brown, but as adults we have to take some responsibility for what we put into our bodies. Nobody really has control over another human being. I wish she had sought out help with counselors instead of taking this sad path that so many others went down. Couldn't she see this happening from others in the industry? Amy Winehouse, just recently?
We lost a heavenly gifted voice, because nobody dared intervene on her behalf. I blame those around her, that knew her the best. Someone knew about this problem. Just like here on NT, we come together to try and help each other. I wish somebody had tried for her. I am going to miss her very much. ginnie

Yes, alcohol + sedatives= depressed breathing and death.

Back when meprobamate came out...the first "minor" or light tranquilizer... many alcohol related deaths occurred mixed with it.

The benzos now, like Xanax, etc also have this warning.

I suspect another drug or two in the mix. But it is also possible,
she had a cardiac event, or some other medical complication from her past cocaine use. Sitting in really HOT water can compromise the heart... mixed in with a person in not so great shape, a hot water immersion can cause fainting or worse.
There are many possibilities yet.
