Arrow Answering Update Requests on Craig

Hello Everybody!

I hope everyone is doing well, the best they can and not getting any worse. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I know I've been grossly remiss in not checking in and I believe in, "No Excuses No Explanations," aspects dealing with responsibility.

Allow me to share a Reader's Digest version update with you, if I may.

Nothing improving with the primary neurological progressive diseases, symptoms and side effects. I posted an article on my personal blog detailing my unexpected surgery after rupturing my left bicep, which I'm sure many of you will find very humorous and others just glad to hear it. I under estimated the deterioration of my muscles, attempted to "slightly" slide a desk, and heard a loud "POP!" I looked down and saw my bicep roll up into my shoulder, leaving my arm useless. No pain but my body knew something because I immediately felt faint and sat down. The surgery took 3 hours in the hospital, but it took 4 and-a-half hours to bring me out of the anesthesia. The worst pain I have ever experienced when the Morphine wore off, requiring a Rx for a narcotic pill form of Morphine over the following week just to tolerate the situation.

I do try and post on my Facebook page a couple times a week and even that has become a challenge. I'm trying to hold out well enough to attend my son's wedding in Ohio in June, as a major life's goal right now. Like I didn't have enough going on, due to file corruption I had to do a complete hard drive wipe and clean install of my Windows 7 operating system. Thank goodness for my DELL Tech Support contract, it only took two phone calls and five days work on my part, but well worth it.

Joyce and I are getting out of town and going to our beach resort timeshare for a welcomed change of scenery and relaxation. As badly as things have progressed, my doctor and Joyce keep telling me we "knew this was going to happen," (get worse) and to follow my own advice to, "Evaluate, Adapt, And Overcome; Accept No Limits In Life." Sounds like good advice to me and it's working so far.

That's about it for now. May Peace and Healing Health be with you.

Your friend,
Craig

Thanks for the update, Craig. I always enjoy your posts.

I am sorry to hear you had a tendon rupture. That had to be a painful fix!

These can happen commonly after you use a fluroquinolone
antibiotic. Cipro, Levaquin or Avelox, etc. The process is not well understood, but happens weeks or months after you stop the antibiotic. People typically rupture the knee, or Achille's tendon, but a bicep one can also happen. We have another member on NT who had a bicep rupture.

So don't strain anything, because another may be in the works.
And try not to use those antibiotics if you can, to avoid further ones.

This family of drugs also are neurotoxic so that would be another reason to avoid them if possible. Sometimes it is not possible, but you can always try another type if you need to.

sorry to hear about the bicep issue. That plain stinks, eh? Hope all heals well and you can count it as a lesson learned moment. At least it will give you a really good excuse not to help move any furniture

Have a good time at your timeshare!!! I firmly believe we all need some "off" time to recharge, recoup and restore ourselves and also our realtionship with our spouse - and this goes for anyone, not just those who happen to have a disability. You have picked a great time of year for the trip!

Hope you are able to attend your son'supcoming wedding. Do what you can to help make that possibe. If all else fails, see if they can skype you into the day's events.

Seems like just when I think "wonder what Craig's been up to?" you post an update! We must be on the same wavelength or something.

I'm glad to hear from you but sorry for all the challenges you've had. Take it easy and know that your NT friends are thinking about you, praying for you and just thankful to hear from you.

I, too, hope you can manage to attend your son's wedding. Just do what you can and the rest will take care of itself.

Thanks for checking in.
