Default Nothing Exciting Ever Happens T o Me?

Yes, I do lead a quiet boooooring life, Buttttttt........

Picture me at 2:30am on Monday Morning, sound asleep..."BAM BAM BAM" at the door. I wake up startled and yell "who is it"!! "Police Dept", he yells back. "What do you want". I yell back. Cop mumbles something about my Daughter and I try to jump up, which is impossible.

I yell, "I'm handicapped, I'll be there ASAP". I'm shook up, so it takes me awhile to get on my scooter and to the door. The old doggy is so scared he doesn't even bark, probably thinking it's just 911 here again to take me to the hodpital.

I turn on the porchlight and slowly open the door, in case it's a burglar, and see a young girl sitting on the front steps with a young Cop at the bottom of the stairs (probably out of my gunshot range..

She is not my Daughter nor anyone's Daughter that I know. Young Cop says, "you don't know her do you"....I say "No"...he say, "sorry I bothered you" and off they went.

I don't know if she expected me to claim her or not...she looked at me woefully. wished I could have helped her, but I figured she was hiding from her real home and irate Parents.

Needless to say Dog and I did not get right back to sleep.

Yikes, Sally! That would have freaked me out totally! I'll bet the girl just gave some random address. How sad. Glad it wasn't anything serious or your daughter.

That is exciting but in a NOT so fun way!

P.S. great thinking to peek before you open the door because who knows what might be lurking behind there even if they said they were the police.

Scary!! Especially as all I would have heard was "daughter" and then thought the worst!

I remember when one of DS's friends came to the house in uniform.......first thing I thought was that something had happened to DS! I was frantic! But all he was doing was picking up something DS had left at home. I called DS and told him to call me and let me know when he was doing something like that! Police showing up unannounced is never good news.

I think the nice little Policehunk was embarrassed. I'll bet he read her the riot act for bothering a poor old lady in a scooter.

I know how you feel there! Some of my hubby's good friends are police officers who work in our area. There have been too many times they have stopped by in uniform when hubby was not home. Makes my heart leap into my throat every time, especially since he's a volunteer fireman!

Oh dear Sally! My heart would be thumping so fast and I'd be shaking like a leaf if I heard that at 2:30 in the morning. I think from the time I heard the knock (or bam, bam) to actually opening the door, my mind would have flashed through every catastrophe that could possibly have happened to my daughter.

I'd be so relieved when I realised my own daughter was safe but afterwards, I think I'd be rather cross with that other little Miss, knowing she was putting her own mother through something similar to what I had just felt.

I'm so glad your own daughter was not involved Sal.
