Default Socks...

Besides the fact that I can't find a pair of shoes that don't hurt my feet in some way -- wearing Crocs or TEVA sandals mostly -- I'm having a hard time with socks!!

My "bad" ankle/foot has been swollen for the last month so that I can only wear two pairs of shoes. Almost all of my socks are too tight on my left foot. The ones that aren't are too THIN so that my right shoe flops around and I slide out of it. Did ya get all that? *sigh*

So today I looked at two pair of socks, one thick, the other thinner and looser, and decided they looked verrrrrrrry similar. Similar enough that I wore the thinner one on my left foot and the thicker one on my right foot, and I ended up with a "pair" of socks that fit just right! Duh!

And the cool thing is, I have another pair just like it.

I had socks on, in 2009, they are too much work now. If I am not wearing flip flops I am barefoot.

Oh how I know that swollen foot feeling. Only scuff style slippers will fit now....it makes me so sad. Takes forever to hoist my legs to get them on, then so many times my feet bump into something or my dog pulls them off. Why does everything have to be so complicated???

LOL, what is formal? For me clean sweatpants and a T shirt! My kids think I am just a bit stubborn, although I prefer to call it dedicated. I went from wearing my former work shoes, they were really comfortable, and I bought 3 o 4 pairs at a time, to velcro track shoes, to flip flops, to barefoot.

Shoes that gave me the best traction became more of a problem as the disease progressed for me. Flip flops were nice because a lot of the time the straps would break if I tripped. I can trip on a carpet or throw rug. even grass isn`t a safe walking place for me, but it is a lot softer than concrete!

!'m Paul, I fall.

They make socks for diabetics that are loose around the ankle, very soft and a little thick, but breathable. I love them, the only issue I have found is that they sell them by the pair or two pair at a time. So they're a little expensive.
