Default Cooling vests

I hang on a fibro board, and someone was complaining her job required her to be out in the heat. I remembered seeing cooling vests discussed here. Was wondering if they are expensive? Can any body get one, or just MS patients?
Are they heavy to wear? Do you get wet wearing them from the vest itself? How do they work?
Thanks

Mine is a bit heavy to wear. It is a Steele brand and has several frozen packs that slip into long pockets.

I don't get wet from wearing mine, because the fabric is dry. There are some that are not frozen but contain a gel that must be soaked in water to active. I suspect, but do not know for certain, that that style would be wet.

I hope you find something that that helps!

Anyone can buy one. I'm sure some one will come along and give you some good web sites. A lot of us with MS got ours free through the MSAA.

i was going to suggest the MSAA also.
i got mine from one of the specialty companies that make them. they have all different kinds and prices.

mine isn't that heavy and it's the one where you freeze about 12 small packets and wear it in pockets in the vest. it lasts about 4 hrs in the heat.
the company is called polar products inc. 1-800-763-8423. but, there are others. you can google them.
