When I told my dear friend of 38 years he said "You're still you aren't you?" No wonder I love and trust him.

So far, my favorite reaction was when, at a meeting, I told a fellow postmaster. She leaned forward, put her elbow on the table and rested her chin on her hand, looked me straight in the eye and said, "So tell me more about MS...how do you feel on a day-to-day basis? What are your concerns? What is the prognosis?" And she listened! And she wasn't faking!!

My responses were all the same except 2. The common one was "Im sorry to hear that." Original, huh?? My husband, when we met, I told him and he had no clue what MS was so a quick overview was given and he was ok with it, he didnt back down. He married me 5 yrs later anyway Now, my bil, he had just lost his girlfriend of 25yrs to cancer, he called me crying saying "Dont die sis, my heart cant take losing you too!!" He mumbled something about Jerry's kids and thats all he knew. He thought I had muscular dystrophy. Bless his heart!

I've heard the "Jerry's Kids" reference too. Someone asked me if MS was like Rheumatoid Arthritis. For some people, diseases must all be alike.

My best friend (since elementary school) said, how can I help you?, what do you need?, call me any time you need any help at all with any thing.

In six years, she's the only one who has said that to me, and that's why she's my "best friend"!
