You all have my sympathy. It was hottish and muggy here yesterday, and I was staggering around like a drunk. A MEAN drunk. Today it's in the mid-70's, and supposed to be in the upper 40's tonight. Thank God, thank God.

If you're jealous, don't be. I live here in the winter, too!

I hope you folks get a break soon. It must seem like it never ends.

This is the summer from...where it's hot...

we had a violent thunderstorm early this morning. It got so black at around 6:15 am that my solar patio lights came back on We got 70 mph winds in our town...chairs and planters blown over, lots of limbs down.
We got around 1.2" of rain, but it was so drenching that I'm sure it ran off instead of soaking in...

Tomorrow it's supposed to be in the high 90s, then a cool off-into the mid 80s...can't wait...

Sally, you and I are in the same boat, weather wise and body wise. Temps in the 90's with humidity making it, well, hard to function in. Ive been in a cog fog for 3 days now and my legs dont want to work. Spasms are hurting so bad feels like my ankles are going to snap off!! Ive almost fallen 4 times in 2 days. Even the a/c doesnt feel cool enough!! Make it stop!!!!

I am so sick and tired of this. At supper time it was 101 with a heat index of 107. My house still looks like a cave. I don't know when I last had my drapes open.

We are expecting record highs today. Forecast on Weather Underground says 104; that's the record temp. Monday night was the FIRST EVER night we left the ac on all night since we moved here. Both cats stay in all day and out all night!

Did ya'll hear about Greenland? NO icecap! It melted over a 4-day period. Greenland has never lost it's icecap.

One of the few things I'm changing about this house (we've been here 2 1/2 years) is the decorative gravel. I think it holds the heat around the house. I've been getting rid of it in sections.

Greenland losing it's ice cap happens about every 150 years. The last time for Greenland was in 1889. Nothing is new.

http://thinkprogress.org/climate/201...e-this-before/

It has been very very hot where I am and I hate it regardless if it's a dry heat or humidity. But, I do remember growing up there were some awfully hot summers. And I was out there baling hay, other field work, and milking cows and being right there next to those hot animals. And even later on there were very very hot summers. But I was obviously much younger then and I do think getting older makes the heat even worse. Just cannot tolerate it like I used to.

We didn't have air conditioning back then either. "Maybe" a fan in the house but downstairs. We were upstairs and it was hot no matter where you were. And in the winter you about froze to death upstairs as then we had frost on the walls. Oh, the good ole days.

Good late morning!

I had the best sleep in my own bed w my orange cat, Gandhi. Windows open. Such a great sleep w/o ac. It's still 73. Nice breeze.

And the best part- nothing scheduled today!

Hang in or lie back,
ANN

Still hot today but a possible cooling down for the next two days, and then???

Yes Greenland's Ice cap is still there and a couple of miles thick at the center. The melting this year is right on schedule....not to worry...yet!!!

We need to stop using fossil fuels though or it could possible happen.. We're our own worse enemy.
