Default Brake pedal or Gas?

The news often reports people hitting the gas instead of the brake and running into buildings or gas pumps or whatever. I've often wondered which pedal I would hit in an emergency. I've been braking with my left foot for 12 years.

Today I got to find out.

After the barest moment of thought......I hit the brake! Correct!

I was in at the end of the line at a red light. The light turned green, the line moves forward, I take my foot off the brake and WHAM! I got hit from behind.

No one was injured and the damage is minimal (but I bet expensive nevertheless). Unfortunately we had just put my BF's truck in the shop this morning! It's driveable but can't be put in the shop till we get the truck back.

I get home and there's an email from my internet provider saying they will be charging me at least $500 for not returning a device that the tracking number shows that they have had since July 23rd.

What a lousy day!!
