Looks like Florida is going to get hit pretty hard. Even here in GA we are getting weather reports for up to 8 inches of rain by Wednesday and Thursday.

If you live in Florida or in the general path of this storm please be safe.

I am next to Clearwater 1 block in from the Gulf. It's not gonna be fun.

I need to vent too. A BIL just drove 16 hours straight from Cincinnati so he could experience a hurricane. I married into a family of IDIOTS!!!! Now I have to take care of his carcass too. Then he thought he'd go back tues. only if he wants to chase the storm north. I don't need this.

Words cannot describe a person who is a storm chaser.

As far as the rep convention I thik it would be a very good gesture if after the storm and convention those who could would stay and help where they can. Not to just show that we as Repulicans care but as humans helping other humans. I understand why the governors of the southern stated need to leave.

So if it goes west of Florida , is it the east side that has the most wind & rain?
The wundermap website shows it going west and maybe becoming a 2 when it hits near New Orleans.

I just saw that on the noon news, Jo. The area around the storm is huge.....meaning that it could impact areas as far east as southern GA. I guess it all depends in the track it takes and where it makes landfall. Poor New Orleans......they've had their fair share of storms. Our weather forecast here in north GA is for rain Wednesday and Thursday.....of course they don't know yet if it will be a little or a lot.

It doesn't even look like Fla will have a direct hit except for a little of the panhandle. Hoping it doesn't worsen.

It's 4:30 Sun afternoon. Its just started to rain. I've heard the center is 150 miles off shore, not much really. The wind field or the storm itself is 400 miles wide. There will most likely be more warnings and such posted.

I hope it doesn't get New Orleans, it would be on the anniversary the Katrina flattened them.

And I hope those who need it get some rain from it.

Oh dear.....I had no idea this was the anniversary of Katrina. What awful memories that must bring back for those that live there.
