Default Mystery

I always keep the remote to the television with me in bed so I can raise and/or lower the volume or change the channel. It's not a small remote either. But, when I got up this morning it was nowhere to be found. And I looked everywhere.....even places that were ridiculous but you know how it is when you're determined to find something.......

I stripped the bed - it was time to launder the sheets anyway - it wasn't there. I looked under the bed. Not there. Looked again with a flashlight. Still not there.

I looked in every single other room of the house.

It's disappeared. If the television were on a channel I liked it would be different. But I don't even know how to change the channel without the remote!

Where in the world could that remote be???

Although I don't have a TV, and thus no a remote for it, I do use one for the stereo when I listen to audio books...and I (almost always) put it in the same place. But I have also misplaced it and then found it:
- on the bathroom counter
- on the kitchen table or the counter
- in the pocket of my house coat
- in the pocket of my sweater
- next to phone
- next to the computer mouse
- on the stereo

Good luck; hope that you find it .

With love, Erika

Sometimes things fall on the floor and you accidentally kick it
with your foot walking around, and it gets shoved to an unexpected place.

I have two magnet pads I use in bed (each has 3 one inch mags in it--handmade by me) and I find them in odd places too. I use these for pain relief. Being magnetic also increases the strange places they may "jump" to which are metal.

I'd check the bathroom carefully, as not being really awake and getting up in the night, might be a likely spot, you placed it.

We don't have TV in the bedroom, so I can't really offer much about your remote, except that you may have carried it off walking half asleep during the night?

The others all answered the same things I would have. You get up in the middle of the night and it travels with you. I have put things in the dishwasher but that was during the day. I have also tried to dial out on the remote. I guess you don't have a pet? Is your house haunted? LOL

I found it! In the cats bed!

Actually, it's a little bed I made out of two old towels and the heating pad. It's on my bed on the side I don't sleep on. They love it because it's warm.

The remote was inside the "envelope" of towels way over in the middle. There's no way it could have gotten in there, especially as buried as it was, without some help. Help from sneaky little kitties.

AHA! I was going to suggest that it got folded up in the bed covers. Mine always does and even when I take the covers off and search them in vain, I'll go back and there it is, still hidden in the cover..

I left it on the bed to see if they do it again. Now that I know where their hiding spot is I feel better. Thought I was losing my mind there for a minute!

And Kicker.......you know the freezer was the first place I looked!!
