Default a question to the diabetics here

I am sitting here and thinking about Christmas! The stockings are a big part of our Christmas. We stuff them with peanuts, the little candy bars and little suprise gifts. So what kind of candy can I get in mine. I am not a good girl at all in just eating a piece of candy once in a while. I can finish mine all in one night if I was allowed to. So what is a good option for me in my stocking. If I have to I will even stuff my own stocking which is usually not allowed since it is always supposed to be a surprise

Extra dark chocolate, at least 65% cocoa. Peanuts are ok. Or other type nuts.

Default Avoid sweets altogether or have a small amount of sugar free. Your body will thank yo

I taught myself to avoid sweets by telling myself that they are poison for me (and they are). When they bring donuts to work, I write on the outside of the box in large block letters "These are poison, or, these are very bad for you." Several of my co-worker have changed their eating habits over the past three years since I've worked there and I like to think that I helped them make the change. One young man even lost 90 pounds and looks like a different person!

Avoid sweets altogether or have a small amount of sugar free. Your body will thank you.

Dried fruit like raisins or "craisins" or dates, in small amounts, might be good. Or how about fresh fruit like an apple or pear or grapes?

Dried fruit is loaded with sugar--but every now and then as a treat it's OK.

And nuts, yes indeedy, aussiemom! Particularly if no salt added and not dry roasted or dipped in anything.
