Default Davenport, IA eaglecam

The Davenport eagles are laying! 2nd egg appeared last evening.

http://www.alcoa.com/locations/usa_d...e/eaglecam.asp

This is a decent temporary replacement (or additional!) cam to watch for those who followed the Decorah eagles, who built a new nest this year that doesn't have cam-ability yet.

This is cool Sparks. Thanks. I haven't seen anything yet, except
Mom sitting on the nest. It will be fun when the eggs start hatching.
Are there just 2 eggs or more now?

Sally, based on past years IF there is to be a 3rd egg it would be laid today (Wednesday/13th) or tonight.

Last year watching the Decorah eagles, I was lucky enough to watch 2 eggs being laid. Once you've seen it once or read enough about it, it is easy to recognize the signs.

No mention of a 3rd egg yet at 9pm. Guessing that's Mom asleep in the nest right now so maybe there will be a surprise in the morning.

Good news. The Decorah Eagles have mated at the old nest,
and Mama was fixing up the nest, so it looks like they will
be returning.

Here's the live cam.. http://www.decoraheaglecamalerts.com/

That is good news, Sally, thanks! Where did you learn that? I looked at the link you gave and the Ustream link but cannot find any updates?

That link is the live cam of the old decorah nest. You will find future updates there?

This is info from another Friend.....

Mom & Dad Decorah visited the old nest yesterday, pecked at each other's beaks, one flew off, the other moved a couple of sticks, flew off, and then they mated on the Y. Perhaps in the Eagle world that's equivalent to a candlelit dinner with champagne!

I hope that this portends that they will choose the old homestead this year.

Here's a 2 minute video of yesterday's rendezvous:

Very good, thank you Sally! Yes, I hope this is a good sign we get to watch the nest again. Goodness, they are getting a late start!

Frown It's official

The camera is to be taken offline this year, as the eagles have chosen their new nest.

http://thegazette.com/2013/02/17/dec...-them-offline/

The good news is that next year there will be cameras on both trees, just in case!
