Default Amusement park

We had it planned for this weekend, either Saturday or Sunday whichever had the best weather. At the beginning of the week neither day looked good But now Sunday looks wonderful. High of 83 and partly cloudy In the past I have taken my cumbersome cooling vest and all of its extra cool packs. With a doctors order you can bring in a cooler. So this fit right on the feet area of my scooter. But you have to get there about 8:30 to rent a scooter and by the heat of the afternoon the vest is no longer cool, the cool packs aren't frozen anymore and it's a royal pain in the tuckus. They have misters all over the park, free hydration stations of all the soft drinks and water you want so I will stay well hydrated. I would try to do that for my diet anyway. I just don't like my body in a bathing suit. So I wear very lightweight shorts and t-shirt over my swimsuit, even on the rides and of course they keep you wet most of the time. Plus I have several eyes on me making sure I am OK. Looking forward to it. We missed last year. My oldest grand daughter said she is going to ride every water roller coaster and regular coaster in the park!!!! The 6 year old is anxious to try some of the bigger rides now that she is tall enough. Will come home tired but happy.

Have fun Doydie! You're a braver woman than I am. Just the thought of going to any kind of theme park sends my anxious meter into overdrive.

Hi Doydie,

I am going to the fair tomorrow with DH. You pay for an armband and go on the rides for free, only $8 per person! I plan on dominating the tilt a whirl if my old body can take it, well, maybe just one ride.

Our son's band plays there from 7-10pm and I asked for the day off a month ago. We'll eat there too, hopefully there is more than carnival food. It is a fair though so there should be some pretty good local caterer there as well.

Have fun with your granddaughter!

Well I have been back home a little over 24 hours now and I think I have finally regained control over my body. I kind of let MS rule today and took a real long nap and after supper felt pretty decent. Am able to form decent sentences that are worth listen to rather than laugh at. I also felling well enough to get back to my usual late night routine on the old computer.

I guess I didn't give an update on how everything went yesterday. It was kind of hilarious!!! The park is divided into two parks like most amusement parks are these days. Since it is a small town feel the music shows are kind of ametuer but my husband still loves them, plus they are all shaded. But since he is the only one who likes them and he seems to feel like he has to make up for all that he did to the girls during their growing up years he doesn't insist. And I have eventually let him. I used to insist that we at least give him that.

So in the amusement park we start out on the raging rapid ride that most parks have. This one even gets you wetter since there are several water falls that you can not avoid or hope you are on the dry side. Plus people can pay to shoot water guns at you up on the observations deck. We also go to the log flume ride. Then to the big roller coaster. This one is world renowned, people come fro all over the world to ride it. I'm sure I left part of my brain somewhere along the way. It's the only one I ride each year and next year I am going to pick one of the tamer ones. My oldest grand daughter said she was going to ride every roller this year. As soon as she saw it up close and personal she wouldn't. All of the coasters are wooden one and you are really knocked around. I felt like kissing the ground when I got off but I new I would never be able to stand back up after. Then lunch time. They have a good family restruant that you can half way stay on a diet there. Then to hit the water coasters. The Mammouth was the one that was my favorite. But I have always had a problems getting out of the ride car, float, whatever and this was no different except 10 times worse. So I am trying to stand up, can't make it, I have my son in law on one arm and daughter on the other. Almost got up and plop, down I fell. Of course the raft is filled with water at this time because of how much gets it on the ride. So my 190 pound body goes splash back in the float. So now I have my daughter pushing my butt, the ride attendant on one arm, son in law on the other and I finally get up. But I still have to get out of the raft! So attendant gets me out but of course it's a moving platform still. The platforms don't completely stop, they are pretty slow but you are stopped. We are fast approaching going on the ride another time whether I want to or not. So I finally get on non-moving ground. So everyone is laughing, everyone in line, the staff, several, my grand daughters and my kids. So the only thing I could do is to bow for the performance I put on. Who knows, it may be on u-tube since you don't know what gets there!!! The next water coaster has a different kind of raft and is much easier to get out of. As I was watching my grand kids in the wave pool I was really, really wanting to be there with them but I have been in a wave pool before and it really drains all energy out of you.

I am so glad that they have a decent rental price for scooters. I would never do it any other way. The park is to hilly for a wheel chair. Plus you have an ample basket. They also have a good policy for handicap guests and offer a fast pass to the big rides. A family member can go through the exit, go up to the staff and get a time for you to come back. Sometimes it's an hour, or it maybe just 30 minutes but you don't have to be in line all that time. Last stop was to buy fudge and then onto home!!! Great time had by all, many things just made me love my kids, SIL and grand kids all the more.

Default Glad to hear!!

Great to hear you had a good time, especially with the kids. I always have fun with our grand kids at a park like the one you were at. Now just seat back and relax to get back into feeling better.

What a riot Doydie. Your account of the water coaster "dis-embarking" brightened my day . So glad that you had a good time .

With love, Erika
