Anyone else have them? I call them olfactory hallucinations. I have a frequent small of bleach and brownies, have for years. Well tonight we were in Walmart in the paper towel aisle. This is on the opposite end and the back of the store so no where close to the bakery. I smell fresh apple pies in the oven, wonderful, like grandma made apple pies. I just stood there and took it in. So next aisle over, no smell at all. They weren't in any other either. I wanted to go back and look at paper towels again!

I sometimes smell things that aren't there or even have the possibility of being present. Similar to you they are mostly tasty food items. Weird. Maybe the brain is telling us we should eat some of that item?

I constantly smell electronics burning like if the tv is on and it gets hot you can smell it like its burning, that kind of thing. It drives me nuts because I will go chasing around the house sniffing everything just to make sure nothing is on fire.

I've always been very sensitive to smells, but don't really
have hallucinations. They're usually real. I can smell DH's sweet smell, sometimes, when I'm thinking about him.

That is so special Sally .
A friend of mine says that she can smell her husband's pipe sometimes, though he has long since moved on to a better existence. It makes me think that we have just touched the tip of a surface hair on the body of love...we have yet to understand and fully appreciate its power. With love, Erika |

Not to worry little one. Your senses can play tricks on you. Usually it's harmless enough. Like....sending your meal back in a restaurant and telling them there punkin pie is too spicey. Or spitting your mom's banana bread into a napkin so she doesn't see and you won't hurt her feelings. Or maybe spending time in the bathroom at church trying to wash your own perfume off because it all of a sudden STINKS. And you can't stand being around yourself. Consider yourself truely unique and belonging in a group of extra special people.
