Starznight, your fever makes you very interesting. Now that you mention it, I have seen that tape dispenser at Home depot also. It doesn't have to be a high heel. It's just that I am thinking of something that she can put out and either used all year long or put in a special place to be seen all year long. She does a lot of cooking and my sister was thinking of a trivet but I don't know how to protect it from the heat. But I still like the idea of a high heel.

You could do a decorative wall trivet with a high heel silhouette. Unglazed ceramic tile, bit of black paint and a hanger... If you wanted to dress it up a bit more you could attach craft wire to the back and do a fanciful border... Ya know the twisty, bendy, curly Qs things with gems set into them (@) like thingies...depending on how many gems you have and really could be scaled up or down depending of sizes and amounts of gems, from 2x2 fridge magnet to 12x12 wall buster, using dainty craft wire to welded steel... The latter is probably overkill, but.....

Doydie - That's a cool idea! You could also get a mirror and decorate the border of the mirror with the jewelry parts. Let us know what you decide to do.

Starz - That's a good start. My knitting, as I've mentioned before, is limited to dish cloths.

I had an epiphany today!!!! My husband loves those decorative eggs, some are made of polished stone, he has one made of varnished wood. They come on a little round stand. Both our grand kids love to take those and arrange them in order. One daughter has a very thin artificial Christmas tree, the other no tree, Sister's DL never has a tree and brother's adopted son needs rmotional support all the time, not just Christmas. So I got out my Christmas decorations and found the one my sister made last year for me. It fits perfect in this egg stand!!!! It would be a perfect solution for all the recipients although I will let my sister decide on the one she wants to do. Well I think she wanted me to buy everything and then she would help me with making it! Uh uh. I have already told her it was to frustrating for me to handle everything. And with her fibro and all her orthopedic problems she totally understands how sometimes a simple task can frustrate a person. But I think it is an ideal solution!

You could probably find some ceramic eggs that you could decorate as well, especially if all the grandkiddies love the eggs. If not ceramic, wooden eggs shouldn't be hard to come by either, a bit of poly/stain blend maybe use a gold/silver paint pen to do decorative lines add glue on the gems... Or depending on deftness of the fingers braiding 'bejeweled' ribbon or wire around the eggs...

While it's great to give gifts based on a persons interests, sometimes sharing a bit of your own can be even more meaningful.

you could also make ornaments like these? I've always wanted to try them, but haven't bought any because I have a hard time finishing things like these.

I've made simple Christmas ornaments with scraps of fabric and styrofoam balls, and ribbon. If I can find any pictures of my ornaments I'll post pictures. What I do is cut scrap fabric into strips, and wrap it around styrofoam balls.

I've also seen ornaments/toys done with crochet thread/ribbon that's wrapped around the balls in really neat patterns. It's called "Temari".

Starznight, I know I eventually want to make my grand kids something personal like that but not just now. I was sorting through my jewelry I do have and was trying to separate it to make sure they all looked equal. I don't care who gets what except this young man loves blacks and blues but that puts to many things on his. I have several chains I can add to them. Also as I was looking through the craft and bead section in stores I saw wonderful beads. I would probably be cheaper if I went to a dollar store and bought a cheap bead or see if I can find some Mardi gras type bead. But then I remembered the summer my oldest daughter and family went to Myrtle beach. So I searched out that bag and got some pretty and small shells. Also this year my other daughter will be going with us to another beach so I can use some on her ornament
