Bought a new computer today! My laptop which is about 8 years old is so slow, half the time it goes black and you have to play with the top, moving it this way and that to get the screen back.Charlie told me to get a new one for Christmas so I have been waiting several months to get this. When the salesman asked me what I use it for and I told him surfing, face book, two face book games, forums, etc he said maybe an iPad could do. I told him I had an iPad, desk top and laptop and that guy just looked at me and asked why I needed a laptop!!!! I just laughed and told him it was just an addiction. So the kind man led me to a $300 new laptop. Reviews are real good, I will now have a webcam so I can skype and also this cheap thing has a CD/DVD player!! WOO HOO. I am waiting for my duaghter to come over on Saturday to help me set it up but I may just take that big girl step and do it myself. It does have Windows 8.1 I presently have windows 7 so that will be an adjustment.

I am flying home tomorrow to Ohio for a few weeks. So I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and any other holiday you may celebrate. "See you" in 2015!

Stepped out to walk the dog this morning and an adult Bald Eagle flew out from the tree, right in front of my house! If I'd seen it beforehand I'd've taken a picture. Got a pic of one in the same tree last year. Took the pic from my bay window.

Hi Everyone!

Debbie - Congratulations on the house! You'll have to keep us posted on the progress. Is it a one level home?

Barb - Have a good trip and enjoy your time with your mom! Merry Christmas!

Sally - That's about what my tree will be looking like this year. :D

Doydie - I hope you enjoy your new computer.

I've kind of been lurking a bit. I've been helping DD23 with the baby. It's hard to believe this precious little guy sitting next to me will be 2 weeks tomorrow.

I've also been doing some crafting. I missed out on all the Christmas crafting and stuff last year as I was not well and spent basically all of December in the hospital. So, this year, I'm trying to maximize my Christmas crafting. :D Ok, maximize is too big of a word for this MS body (fatigue and all). Um, maybe enjoy as much as I can would be better. ;)

I hope you all have a great evening.:grouphug:

Hi everyone!! Been AWOL awhile...

Kitty, cats are so cute as kitties...but my grand cat turns mean on a dime, and I can't pet him without being wary. I learned to let him come to me. We get along much better now. But he is a high-maintenance cat-gets stressed and throws up around the house, dumps when he gets mad, etc. DD can't even board him because he gets crazy for days after he comes home. And they can't leave him alone at home when they come down to visit. So he comes with...

Trisha, so happy that your grandson is thriving. Wait until he gets to be around 18 mos. old--so much fun!!

Barb, hope you have a wonderful holiday in Ohio!!

Our new house is a 2 story. But it does have a straight away stairway, so if I every need a lift, it will be better than our present staircase, which turns. And with a 2nd floor laundry I won't have to drag it up and down the stairs. We have been busy picking out brick, siding etc for the exterior. We also got a preliminary set of blueprints today. But now we can concentrate on the holiday, and look forward to all of the kids being together:)

Well, hope all of you have a great weekend!!:)

I have had a tradition for Christmas stocking gifts for a good many years. The ladies do all the stockings. We have 'the secret society of stocking stuffers' and it's made up of all the married ladies while all the men clean up our dinner. So sometimes the women put things in the stockings that men don't get. I have had this habit of getting ornaments for all the ladies. Last year I bought them all at 'The Christmas shop' in Gatlinburg so they were pretty special. I saw a DIY project thins week on the internet though I think I will try. Looks fairly inexpensive also. You take a cookie cutter. It showed the shiny metal ones but I think I will use plastic red and green, put a bell hanging in it with a pretty ribbon.

Barb, sure wish I had a straight shoot up the stairs in my bilevel. The stairs aren't that wide and it is two levels. We have a neighbor that used to work a company that installed them and he said he would give us a good deal but he is retired now. I had no idea when we had the house built in 1978 that I would need it. I have a sister, sister in law that would sure make use of it. And my Mom would have loved it but she is celebrating her 3rd Christmas in heaven.
