Hi everyone! Happy March 1st

Wiz, what a change going to FL would be for your life!! The heat is more tolerable thanks to AC, IMHO...but wow...a new job and a new environment. Fun!! Keep us informed as to what's going on...

Trish, hope the tests went well...grandbabies are exhausting!! But they remind us of what is important...

Barb, you Texans have had some wild weather lately. It's got to be better than this awful cold up here...it's worth dealing with the heat to get out of this freezer, IMO...

What a week...we spent last week taking care of our two granddaughters; one is 24 mos and one is 4 mos...it was exhausting and extremely stressful. I felt bad that I couldn't seem to keep calm I kept getting anxious throughout the day.
On Tuesday DH and SIL went up to see how the new cabin is coming along, which meant I was alone with the girls...my DGD who is 4 mos has reflux, and her new dosage hadn't kicked in yet...she was crying a lot.
I told DH I didn't understand why I couldn't handle it the way I did with the 4 kids. He said, "You're sicker than you were back then, hon."
Still and all it was a delightful week. I cried when I left. Love the kids and hate being over 4 hours away

I finally got a hold of the shoulder specialist. I'd had an MRI done almost 2 weeks ago, and couldn't get the results. Finally on Friday afternoon DH got on the phone and became the squeaky wheel. They called back within a couple of hours:roll eyes:
I don't have rotator cuff tear; I have bursitis. I'm glad it isn't more serious. The PA prescribed oral steroids for 6 days. It already seems better.

But my legs--OMG they are spasming so bad and locking that I can't stand it. Poor DH tries to help, but we just have to wait until they release. I sure hope this doesn't happen on our flight to Hawaii this week...

Well the construction crew is finished with their part. DH has some things to do, like install new ceiling tiles in the basement along with bead board. He also has to put the baseboards back on and finish the new closets he's contracting. Most of it will have to wait until we return from our vacation.

Well, hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday evening. This winter's weather has been crazy, and it sounds like we are in for some more crazy weather this week. It'll be spring before we know it...just hunker down until the robins return...

Smirk Snow, snow go away!

Most the time here in Texas we are warmer, but this year we have had a lot of snow, not as much as you have, but it seems worse than it is usually. Last week on Wed. we recieved snow, about 4-5 inches, and it is still here. We have a chance to get more snow tonite. We have not gotten over 35 since it hit here. I know that Dallas got some also and they are stunned, because they never have snow.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Howdy everyone! There ended up being about 130 accidents in Austin alone on Saturday due to freezing rain. We haven't gotten any snow this far south. I did not go out even when it warmed up to the high 30s. Usually in March the temps here are in the mid 60s to 70s. It is only 40 right now. We have also been getting quite of bit of rain since I moved here in August that everyone is happy about after ten years of drought.

I went to a Fleetwood Mac concert last night. I was going to watch my niece while my sister and brother in law went, but he was sick so my sister asked me. She did not seem aware that our seats were the last row in the arena! There was an escalator to that level, but then I had to climb about 40 stairs to get to out seats. Vertigo definitely set in at first. I was already worn out before we even got to the stairs walking from parking and around the arena to the right level.

Once I adjusted to the height, I was okay. I was uncomfortable most of the time (leg and back pain), but I still really enjoyed the concert. Stevie Nicks was great and so was the lead guitar player - Lindsey Buckingham. I can't believe all of the main band members are for the most part in their late 60s. It was a really good show. We started walking down the stairs during the first song in their encore and manged to get out of the arena before the crowd. We only missed one song. We watched a few while standing on the way out.

I am sore and exhausted today but it was worth it. I do know that if I ever go there again we are going to purchase tickets for those with disabilities.!

afternoon everyone...hope those of you having bad weather stay warm, dry and safe...

Barb, I also get very uncomfortable in those stadium seats...they make them for six year olds, I swear...glad you enjoyed the concert!

phew...we have been so busy lately. DH got the rest of the basement ceiling tiles installed, and then we cleaned up the place for the bank inspector. The only thing not done for them is installing the baseboards, which DH is doing. The bank is issuing the final checks. So after 7 months, we will finally be (almost) done cleaning up from the flood.

The shower door installers came to install the glass enclosure for the new shower. The measurements were off (their measuring goof, not ours) so they'll have to make a new glass wall and come back. DH still needs to measure and stain new baseboards that must have gotten thrown away during the clean up; he also has to finish the new closets he's building in the kids' rooms. Then we can finally get the place back together.

We went over to see our newest granddaughter last night. She is 6 weeks old, and the calmest baby I've ever seen. Our fifth one is due this month. The kids have been busy

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Actually able to wear a light weight jacket today!!!! Wore it in the rain but still was nice not to have my winter coat on. But the jacket will stay on it's hook for a few days again and not on me. Our all day rain is still going and then turn real cold and the rain will change to snow, maybe 10 inches. March, in like a lion!

Well I turned 65 today. If I were still working I would be retiring about now. When I think of the amount of money I could have made by having an RN salary and full benefits since 1999 instead of SSD and Medicaid. WOW, my pension from the hospital would have been a lot more also plus my social security check. But I wouldn't have been able to just drop everything at the drop of a hat when my daughter was in labor with both my wonderful grand babies and then stayed and helped for a full week. I wouldn't have been able to have them for their spring break or taken care of them while Mom and Dad goes to church retreats. I wouldn't have been able to go on vacation with them every year, I wouldn't have had Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas off every single year so that I could celebrate like I wanted to. So all is good.

We go out and eat all the time so really there aren't many places that re special to me anymore to make a special meal for my birthday. We usually got to either The Red Lobster or The Olive Garden but those are so predictable and even though I am on a diet I still would have wanted to split a desert which usually cost at least $5. One place I do like to go and I won't allow myself because of the diet is Ci Ci's pizza. For those o you who aren't lucky enough to have one close to you, it's a low budget pizza buffet. They have a decent salad bar, nothing special and also a small pasta bar which is pretty crappy. But they have all kinds of pizza which sits under a warming light. They will make you anything you want if you don't see it on the buffet.

But then you get to the deserts! The most wonderful brownies and cinnamon buns with cream cheese swirled on top. Oh, I forgot about the bread. It's like a deep dish type pizza crust with cheese baked on it. You get the picture. Lots of calories, cheap price, $5.49 with your senior discount and I get water. So that's where we went!!! I think he was secretly a little disappointed that he didn't get to go get a really nice meal out but it was my birthday and neither one of left hungry. Actually I only had 2 pieces of pizza, ham and pineapple and a spinach alfredo. So the rest of the meal was all the bad stuff. Or was it good stuff??? But they are all listed on the My fitness pal nutritional data base so I was honest and put it all in my diary. My total for the day was 2015 and that included my other two meals.

Debbie, glad your house is finally getting finsihed

keeping a low profile lately but doing OK...having some energy issues. Come on spring! I know that will get me going but still have snow on the ground and freezing temps. Its supposed to warm up for a while (hopefully a long while), in the next few days.

Hope that everyone is doing well.
With love, Erika

Got 8 inches of snow tonight We don't usually get snow in March but when we do it's a doozy. I know 8 inches isn't a lot for some of you but for us, it paralyzes the city

If we got that much snow at one time here in GA I think the weather people (meteorologists) would burst into flames. They get so excited when they report any winter precipitation that they almost need medics on standby.
