Hi all-been awol for awhile...

Trish, Take care of yourself until you are able to figure out what's going on...hope DGS is feeling better

Sal sorry AT&T is trying to squeeze more $$ out of you...glad you at least got your internet back

I've been in and out of town the last 2 weeks. We were up at DD's from 4/5-4/8...DH & SIL went up to the cabin to check out progress on construction. Looks good so far...
We came home for 4 days & then flew to Denver area to see DS37 & fam including new granddaughter & to help out. I had a sinus headache that ended up turning into a major sinus infection along with an ear infection & bronchitis. I never held the new baby-tried to stay away and washed my hands, Sneezed into sleeve, etc. I ended up flying home yesterday and left DH behind to help with the 2 yr old DGS. I'm on ABs & cough meds...I feel so bad exposing them to that. I pray that they don't get it...

Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend...

Well I have decided to keep my own food diary for DH along with how his bowels were. Last night he ate a deep dish sausage pizza, 3 pieces. Today he ate another piece and then spaghetti for supper and had a big diarrhea stool this evening. So if he is to stubborn to do it, then I will.

Hi Everyone!

Debbie - I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well and had to cut your trip short. I hope with the meds that you improve quickly!

Doydie - That pizza sounds yummy, but it would definitely do a number on my digestive system. You are a good wife for taking charge and keeping the food and symptom diary for DH. Maybe once he reviews it he will see that some foods are just not good for him and are causing him more trouble.

It's another beautiful day out today. I didn't go for my walk but DD24 stopped by and we talked outside for a bit. It was so nice out there.

I'm making my chicken and fish for the week. I bake it and then freeze some of it and then portion out enough for a couple of days or so. It's so much easier to cook once and have my meals for the week basically done. I only have to worry about cooking veggies. Some of the chicken I will make in to chicken salad and eat that for lunch on the nights I have fish. I'm not up to eating red meat as it is tougher to digest than chicken and fish. Maybe next week. The grocery store had buy 1 get 2 free on beef so I stocked up. I basically got a minimum of 18 meals with it for under $25. They had the chicken on sale for the same price but I had all of that. I picked up some chicken at Trader Joe's and am cooking that now.

I hope you all have a great day!

Well I think Charlie officially takes more medicine than I do. What with the fact of my diet and being able to go off several of my pills and then my bowels decide to behave themselves and I don't have to take so much to even have a pea size poop. And then Charlie has added yet another condition so more meds. When he has his appointment with his neurologist in September, I am sure he will have his Parkinson's medicines changed. His tremors are now in his right hand now.

Trish, I enjoyed the class. Some things are a bit hard to do because of the "hug." I am hoping that at some point I can mange it get down on the floor for the last part of the class involving relaxation and meditation. I just use a second chair to put my legs up for now.

Hi all...

Thanks, Trish...coughing is driving me crazy...and of course when we are fighting an infection, we get an exacerbation of sxs...my bladder control is gone sorry for the TMI...just beside myself about it...hope it returns...

Barb, kudos to you for attending the class. Getting up and down from the floor is not something I can do any longer...but I try to do what i can. Any activity helps!!

Trish, great idea to keep ahead with meals. We don't eat too much beef nowadays...and we try to have at least one meatless meal per week. DS made us quinuoa last week...it was good, and has all the amino acids we need. So I'm going to try to find some recipes with that. DH wasn't as thrilled about it, but it's healthier for us so he will go along...

We are making progress in getting our house ready to put on the market. We still have one bedroom to finish up, then the basement, then the garage, which is a hoarder's paradise. DH has amassed a huge quantity of tools, screws, etc all packed into cabinets. We will have a major purge party whether he likes it or not:roll eyes:

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday...spring has finally arrived!

My brother is bring us an antique china cabinet this week, then we will be taking ours down to our daughter. So that meant I had to empty ours. I no longer have a dining room table. How in the world did I accumulate all this stuff in that cabinet??? Do I need it??? I know I have my set of good dishes that came 'free' when I bought my cookware. It also came with 'free silverware and knife set'. Yeah, free. Anyway, I have had those since 1971. Then I have a set of Mom's that she bought gradually from a gas station. Those were the days!!!!! With every fill up you got a cup, plate, saucer, bowls, etc. But they are nice. Then I have a really antique partial set that I have no idea where it came from. Then I have 3 pieces of brown melmac. That is old. Three sets of silverware which comes with 3 different silverware cases. Then some other odds and ends. I would love to have a yard sale but I don't have enough other things to make it a good yard sale. Well if I went through my house from drawer to drawer, cabinet by cabinet I might. Plus these things all need to be washed. The old stuff I don't trust in a dishwasher. But the area is ready for a new china cabinet and ours is ready for its new home.

Oh, another thing. I was washing the linens on my daughter's bed to be ready for my brother. I guess I loaded this quilt in wrong because it caused a lot of vibration on top of the dryer. We had jsut gone shopping tonight and our new huge bottle of detergent was sitting on the dryer. The vibration caused it to crash to the floor, sending the lid flying and the laundry floor now has half of this bottle of detergent Well some of it didn't make it to the floor, It went into the sump pump which is now bubbling!!! How was your day!!!!

Sister called this morning. My brother is supposed to be coming in this week to bring us some old antiques from his home. They are living with his MIL house since she has dementia and can no longer keep all their old furniture and he wants them to stay in the family since it's our parents and grandparents furniture. We were going to enjoy a couple of days together, he's a hoot an has 3 grand children so lots of stories to tell. So she calls this morning and tells me she has shingles! Good grief!!!! She is heavy and it's under her arm, ouch I guess I'll have some brother time all by myself.

Morning everyone!! Late April and we have frost outside...at least it isn't snow

My cold is finally dissipating-yay!! DGD caught a slight cold but is now getting better, thank God...they're so vulnerable as little babies...

We have walls up on the new house already...DH & I are working hard to get our house ready to put on the market, but it seems as if we will never get done. Might have to call the kids over to help out...

Well, hope everyone has a good day...where is everyone, anyway?

Well my brother told us he was coming the last weekend n April, which is this weekend, but it is next week sometime. So at least my house is fairly cleaned and won't take much to fine tune it again. His room is clean. I have had a time going through all the things that were in my china cabinet to get it ready tog o to my daughter's house. So for about a week I have all this 'stuff' spread out all over my kitchen table. So my sister came a couple of days and we sorted out what was really Mom's things or what she bought at a yard sale because it had a rose on it or she just though it was cute. In other words it doesn't have any sentimental value. So I took picture of things I could take to an antique shop or I could give to my daughter if she wants it. She is like me, if Mom anted me to take something home with me, I would take it. I had no idea what in the world I was going to do with it but I took it. I have told my daughter to please not do that with this stuff. I have plans of what to take to an antique shop and what goes to an upscale consignment store. The junk went in the trash. ihave my china set, my Grandma's china set and then 2 4 place setting sets new in the box I need to get rid of. I will keep either mine or Grandma's. My cabinet is deep and has a notch cut into the back of the shelves for the plates. My brother's cabinet isn't as deep as mine so I don't know if my set will fit back in. So I do hope my daughter wants mine if it won't fit in the new one.

I was inching my weight up to 190 after loosing 60 pounds. That would have been a weight gain of almost 20 pounds. So I am back into exercising and watching my diet a little closer. I have lost about 4 pounds this week but today I couldn't hardly do anything. I am so sore. I wanted tomorrow to be my rest day but it was today. So that means 7 miles on the recumbent bike tomorrow. So glad I have my fitbit for motivation. Well my closet full of size 12 clothes help also since I give away each size I grow out of.
