Hi everyone...happy Sunday

Trish, hope you're feeling better soon...

Been very busy here. We put the house on the market 17 days ago and haven't had one showing We have reduced the price once already and I'm ready to do it again. I felt it was priced much too high to begin with.

We went up to the cabin last week...we have a lot of work to do! DH laid tile in the upstairs bathroom floor, and we installed most of the kitchen cabinets. He and our neighbor brought in our huge refrigerator....DH got a huge bruise on his arm from the weight of the thing. We also found a couple of bathroom vanities and sinks for a great price and brought those back to the cabin.

The place was so dusty from all of the construction--ugh...I think now that that part is winding down I may take a damp cloth and dust off the walls-they're full of plaster dust. I've tried several times to mop the basement floors to get the dust up, but it just seems to push it around. We have found some ecologically safe vinyl flooring for most of the floors--we decided to lay carpet tiles in the bedrooms to make it a bit warmer.

We are driving back up tomorrow...we still have a few more cabinets to install; then DH is going to put tiles in the shower walls. We also have some landscaping to do; we need to divert water away from the house, and also away from our neighbor's land. I hate that kind of work, but it has to be done. We hope that the place will be usable by the 4th of July

My niece stayed over last night while Mom and Dad enjoyed a night at a hotel downtown. So I napped most of the afternoon today.

She came over around 3:00. First we made brownies and then dinner. After dinner, we played with makeup. She gave me a makeover including blue chalk in my hair. I was beautiful!
We had planned on going swimming, but it was raining. So then we had a drawing contest, played with her LPS (Little Pet Shop - she likes to make up stories and then make a video) and played Uno. Finally we watched a beach movie on Netflicks. She went at bed at 11:00 and was up at 7:00.

This morning we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast where she had to smell every candle in their store. Then we checked out the toys at Wal Mart. It turns out she has always wanted a remote control car. When we got back to my apartment, her mom and dad were waiting for us. Thankfully, I didn't have to figure out how to put all of the batteries in the purple Lamborghini.

Sounds like everyone has had a wonderful day. Mine...got up early enough to get to Sunday school which I don't get to very often, had a trio practice at church this evening then supper and Walmart. While I was getting ready to sing the first hymn in the choir, I put on my readers and found I couldn't hardly see. The glasses didn't feel quite right either. So after the song was over and we sat down I took them off and low and behold, I was able to stick my finger right through where the right lens would have been. The frame had broke. So went to Walmart to get new readers. Have readers in almost every room of the house, in my purse and in the choir loft!

Doydie- I really wish I needed glasses for reading rather than the rx ones for distance. I am forever losing them, especially now that the vision is too bad to drive.

And after a nice quiet weekend, I got another kid on my hands. In the form of a 44 year old man aka. DH. He's not been in compliance with his use of his cpap machine and will need surgery of some sort to enable him to use it. It's either the capillaries or his deviated septum or both. And just like a child he's already kicking and screaming over not wanting anything done.

He doesn't like needles, doesn't like doctors, won't be able to work (for like 2 days), doesn't like pills, doesn't like hospitals... Sigh...

Well guess he at least waited till the GBs were gone before becoming a baby himself

Hi Everyone!

Debbie - You have been busy!!!! Wow! I hope you were able to take some time and rest and take care of yourself. I hope the cabin is ready for to be used July 4th. What a fun way to spend the 4th!!! Where do you stay when you are up there working on it?

Barb - You "date" with Anya sounds awesome!!! You guys did a lot during your 1 night sleep over. I'd be taking a big nap too. Now that I live further away from my brother I don't see my niece as much. I miss those special times with her. Anya is so lucky to have you living close by now.

Doydie - I'll bet you were thinking optic neuritis when you put your readers on. I know I would have. I did get a kick out of reading your post as that is something that would happen to me.

Starz - Sorry about the 44-year old kid. I guess the grands taught him a little while they were there visiting. I do hope the surgery helps him out.

I didn't do too much today. I felt better today than I have in a long time. It was nice. I almost felt "normal" for a change. I was careful in what I did today and only accomplished a few tasks. I didn't want to overdo it.

I hope you all have a great evening.

Yeah, I was so shocked after I had my first implant put in. It was the worst eye to begin with so I could instantly see when I was in recovery. So I get home and trying to read and found out I couldn't read! So a Walmart trip was needed, which I never mind at all. But the reading was still weird because I still needed a prescription lens for the other eye. Luckily the other cataract needed it soon also so several months later that one was taken care of so both lens implants are different. My long distance vision is 20/20 now where before my short distance was 20/20.

Hi Everyone!

It's another day in the oven. Yuck! I had to walk down to pay my rent today. By the time I got back to my house, I felt like a cooked noodle. Shortly after getting back, my vision went blurry and stayed that way for a while. I finally recovered and the cooked noodle feeling is gone. I hat e the heat and what it does to me.

My sweet next door neighbor came over and vacuumed the area rug in my apartment and her son took out my garbage. It was so nice of them and I appreciated it so much. I have vinyl flooring in the living room, dining area, and hallway and tile in the kitchen and bathroom. Only the bedrooms are carpeted. The vacuum I had was too heavy for me and I can't use it. I gave it to her. She wanted to pay me but I told her no. She's a single mom and I know what it's like to be a single mom and what a struggle it can be. So, she said she will come vacuum for me whenever I need it. I said that will work for me.

DD23 came over the other morning with my grandson. It was so nice to visit with them. They were here for about an hour. He slept for part of the time and then was up and smiling for the rest. He is getting so big and so cute. I can't hold him for long as my arms get too fatigued now but I did get to hold him while. It was the highlight of my day. No...wait...the highlight of my week.

I hope you all have a great evening!

Happy Friday, Everyone!

I'm not doing much today. I did my morning stretching exercises and now feel so weak. I'm resting now in hopes that it will resolve. I had planned on rearranging my kitchen cabinets today. I don't have a lot of kitchen stuff so it will be an easy task. I want to swap out where I have the dishes with the food. The cabinet that I have the food in is just not big enough and I have groceries that were delivered yesterday that I need to put away. Plus, my kitchen is small. When I open the dishwasher door, it almost hits the cabinets on the other side. It makes putting the dishes away difficult as I have to close the dishwasher to get to the cabinet I have the glasses in. It's kind of pain. So, I'm going to swap them so that they are on the opposite side and I can easily put them away without having to open and close the dishwasher.

I don't have anything else planned for today or the weekend for that matter. I hoping to be able to visit with DDs sometime this weekend as well as my GS. Speaking of my GS, he turned 6 months today. Wow! Time went by so fast. His bottom 2 teeth came in and looks so cute. He's not sitting up on his own yet but is scooting a little on the floor and pushing himself up a bit. This little guy may be crawling before sitting.

I hope you all have a great day!

I am not doing much today. My sis and niece are in Ohio visiting my mom and family, and it feels really weird for them to be there and for me to be here in Texas without them. I am going to Ohio the end of the month for two weeks. I chose to go then because my sister and family will be gone on vacation, and I did not want to be here without any family. I can always call my brother in law if I need help with anything. In fact, we are going out to dinner tonight. He does not like being alone. He gets bored easily.

I did go out this morning to Bed, Bath, and Beyond to get a gadget to make zoodles - zucchini noodles. Temperatures are already in the low 90s so I am going to be hibernating a lot this summer. It isn't too bad in the morning.

I've had a nostalgic two days. I love the former homes I have lived in, they mean a lot to me. they all hold a treasured place in my heart. Last night we went to Walmart. According to where we are when we go to Walmart, we take a different route. Well last night we had to take our alternate route. This route takes me right by the house I lived in when I graduated from high school and officially 'left home'. I saw a for sale sign in front so I had husband memorize the name of the realtor so I could look it up. I knew I would forget. so I looked it up, saw my old bedroom, they had redone the kitchen real nice. I sent a link to my siblings who all enjoyed it. It sure looks smaller then when I was a girl. Then today was on face book and saw a yard sale at my husbands and my first starter home!!!!! So we went real quick. I wish they had allowed me to look in the windows as it is being used as a day care now and not even being lived in but she didn't offer it. But it had been completely remodeled inside, basement waterproofed and finished, weird upstairs that I had loved but never knew what to do with had been made into a huge master suite. The entire down stairs is a day care and other areas now used as storage. They had fenced it in and a two car garage in back! Really enjoy those simple unexpected gifts!!!!
