Debbie, Glad that you are happy in your new home.

Doydie, it sounds like you and your husband have been through a lot. Hope everything remains calmed down and you can both fully recover from his latest illness.

Temps have been in the 90s here and there are horrible fires about 40 miles from here. Temps are slowly dropping into the 80s and it looks like we may get hit with a lot of rain toward the middle of the week. I really miss fall. Hopefully, we may finally start experiencing from Texas fall.

Hmmm. This is a nice thread and thought I would jump in.

Let's see. DH is in Paris for work until Saturday. When not working, he is seeing the sights. Color me happy but also sad. We had always planned that once the nest was empty, I would travel with him.

DS just got back from a business trip to Hong Kong, his second time. I am waiting for his weekly call to tell me of his exploits. Last time he tried a one hundred year egg. It is not really that old. It is cured to change the composition to a gelatinous form. He liked it! He does so many things, he is one of "those guys."

DD moved close, only eight minutes away from me. Just got a job. The company is very pro employee, serves breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, rolls, etc and caters lunch. If one does not like the entree, opt out options are encouraged. I hope she loves the work, certainly a full stomach leads to productivity.

Me? Wheelchair full time.

Hi Everyone! I'm using my "smart" phone so sorry for the typos.

I finally made it home last week. I spend a couple of weeks in the hospital fighting a wound infection and abscess after my surgery. I then went to rehab to gain my strength so I could take care of my self. I ended up having to be readmitted to the hospital for another week due to an infection. And, after that I told them I just want to go home. After some assessments, I was discharged. I have an aide that comes and helps, a nurse who takes care of my wounds, and am waiting for the insurance to approve the PT sessions. I was in either the hospital or rehab for almost 6 weeks, I think. It's good to be home and yet, kind of scary as I'm still not 100%.

I've been gone from here for so long that I'll never be able to catch up. So, I'm just jumping in here...

Wow Trish, you've been thru the MS mill.. Happy that you are
finally home. I hope you can stay home safely now.

I've been thru the mill a bit myself, as you'll learn and understand
your pain. I'm home with 24/7 care. It's the only way DD would
let me come home.

Hope we are both able to heal and make a come back!!

Sally - I am so glad you are home now and that you are okay. I was so worried about you and prayed for you a lot. I'm so thankful that you are ok and our prayers were answered.

I'm not doing much today. My mom might come to visit for a bit. I only have the nurse coming today. The aide has the weekends off because my daughters are available to help.

The weather is starting to change and the mornings are much cooler. The days are still warm but hopefully that will change soon. Speaking of weather, I hope all our Texas board friends are safe. Barb, check in when you can!

I'm off to read a book now. I hope you all have a great day!

Things are not too bad here in the Austin area. We were under a flood warning for about 12 hours, but I think that has expired. Now we are just under a watch. Several roads and highway ramps are closed due to flooding, but they haven't had to do any evacuations and I think there has only been one rescue. It has been raining since yesterday afternnon, but the heaviest rain did not hit where I am at until the middle of the night. It is still raining, and supposed to continue until tomorrow afternoon. They got hit up north and to the east (from the hurricane) with alot more rain. The latest I heard was about 5 inches where I live.

Well, this gramma might be a crippy but still has some reflexes, for better or worse. GB and I were on the swing tonight enjoying some quite time before bed when the whole swing suddenly flipped over. Gramma caught the baby! She was fine, shook up and scared by it but unharmed physically. Gramma on the other hand ... I have a torn open arm, crack to the head, strain to the neck and massive bruise on my hip and back... But baby is okay!

I seriously thought I was going to have a heart attack, I nearly passed out after going over the baby with a fine tooth comb looking for any injuries. Had to lay on the floor while the DH doctored my arm. I just may end up going to the doctor tomorrow, but step daughter is out of town right now, so I hope I can wait until she gets back.
