Afternoon, all...

Kelly, hope all is going well with DIL and the babies...nice names!

Trish, so sorry you are feeling pain. Don't neglect yourself now...hope DD is coping with all of her pregnancy challenges...

Barb...what can I say? Sometimes in health care the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. At least they performed the biopsy and now you'll at least know what is up. Keep warm and try to distract yourself until they call with the results. :group hug:

Just about finished choosing everything for the bathroom remodels. Now DH is going to demo the closet where the new small bathroom will go. The plumber will come in in about 2 weeks to do all of his work-we will be without a bathroom upstairs then Makes me nervous...

Hope everyone has a good weekend...stay warm and safe!

Finally went out to start Christmas shopping but only ended up buying one thing But one main thing I had on the agenda was buying some cold weather things for myself. Every year now I have dropped a size so I needed new sweaters, etc. So to Christopher and Banks I went!!! After $200, I think I am OK. Still want some more Christmas sweatshirts and I usually wear them 2 seasons.

Hi Everyone!

Debbie - An upstairs bathroom would make me nervous too. Poise would be my new best friend. I hope all goes well with the remodel.

Barb - I'm so sorry you have to wait to get your results. Hopefully you will hear something tomorrow. I continue to keep you in my prayers.

Doydie - I haven't even thought about Christmas shopping yet. I know a lot of people who have started already.

DD24 went out of town today and so I'm hanging out with DD23. We're going to make decals to go above the baby's crib. His bedding is whale themed so she wants to do a sailboat with his name on the boat. She drew up the design already and we now need to scale it to the size she wants and then transfer it to the "decal" paper. It's actually contact/shelving paper that you can paint on. I use it a lot for stencils for my paintings. I have some special varnish to go on top of the paint. We did a test run with smaller pieces and it stuck really well to the wall. She invited the baby's other grandma to come visit and help if she wants.

I have a question for those of you in more humid weather. My apartment smells musty and kind of like mildew. I am so sensitive to it and it irritates my allergies so much. Do any of you have tips on dealing with the smell? I called the apartment manager and the maintenance guy couldn't find where the smell was coming from other than my neighbor next door had a leak and they repaired all of that so it shouldn't still smell in my apartment. In the mornings, I open up all the windows and turn on the fan on the central a/c-heating unit to help air the place out and circulate some of the air. But, during the night, my allergies go crazy from the smell. I wake up miserable in the morning. Any ideas and tips would be great because I'm at a loss right now.

I hope you all have a great day!

Tricia there must be dampness in the air from somewhere. Have they checked your air ducts and vents to see if any mildew or mold is growing?

You might want to try something called Damp Rid. I have found it at the grocery and at drug stores.

http://www.damprid.com/

I've only used the kind that hang because I can put them on the shower rod and they dry out the bathroom. I've really had a lot of success with them.

I think they come in little cups, too, that you can place throughout the house but I wouldn't use those if you have any pets that might get into them.

I hope you can find a solution. Mildew and mold are smelly and also dangerous.

Tricia, I would think your land lord has a legal responsibility to see where the source is and to repair it, not you. Also if it is making your miserable you might have a medical claim as well.

Snow started around 6 hours ago. We should be getting 2-4 inches by 6 hours from now. The bushes that I very much dislike sure look beautiful snow covered though

Tricia....I don't know where you live, but in the summer, my central AC gets rid of any damp smell and in the winter, a little heat does the same thing. Like others have said, mold can be a BIG problem so your landlord should be on top of the situation. Hope all turns out okay....

Morning all...COLD here...

Barb, so sorry you didn't hear back. Hope you get some news this morning...

Trish, if your neighbor had a leak, the water might not have gotten behind the wall to get rid of any damp wallboard! This happened to DS34 & DIL. Their bathroom shower leaked behind the tiles. The closet wall next to the shower got wet. The landlord had the tiles replaced but did nothing about the wallboard. DIL had severe migraines until they replaced it. I'd have the landlord check it out!!

DH & I bought all of the tile for the two bathrooms and the downstairs foyer-it was a boatload of money!! Now all we have to do is sign contracts for the remodel and order faucets for the tub and showers and we are good to go. DH is demoing the closet and then will have to tear up the bathroom flooring. Ugh...more mess. Oh well:roll eyes:

Hope everyone stays safe and warm...I hate the cold!

I got a call from a nurse a little while ago saying that the doctor did have the results of the biopsies and he would look over them this afternoon. I had called earlier inquiring about it. I then asked if I would hear something this afternoon and she said maybe. Feeling ticked off and anxious.
