I had several necklaces I really liked, put magnetic catches on them. They just closure on the necklace closures and grab each other when put close to each other. Got a bunch at Target, available in gold or silver.

I don't wear jewelry any more because tinkering with tiny hooks and clasps is difficult. An earring would fall off my ear and I wouldn't notice it. Jewelry seems to weigh me down--it's not comfortable to wear it.

I try to go easy on myself. People often dress up because they think it's expected. I believe in making an exception for myself on the grounds of MS.

We're special people. We have a neurological disorder that does strange unexpected things to us, and we're stuck with that disorder. We deserve some special accommodations even if we have to create them for ourselves.

Giving up on dressy clothes unless they're comfortable and easy to care for is one way I've been easy on myself.

THANK YOU for this! I plan on sharing it with a few people who just don't get it. They aren't pushy or judgmental or mean--they just don't get it.

Thanks kicker, I have a few of my shorter necklaces that are favorites that I have had to stop wearing. My husband is always asleep when I go to church and I just don't want to take the necklace to church and have some one there put it on for me. Church is really the only time I dress up. Dress up, hah, black or grey pants and a sweater set along with a necklace or scarf. Yep, that's dress up for me.

I think if we realized how little people pay attention to what we're wearing we'd be surprised.

I guess I thought everyone who saw me would be critiquing what I was wearing......how it looked, fit.....did it make me look fat. :D:D

Truth is, most everyone else is concentrating on what they are wearing. Wondering if anyone saw the stain they had hidden, wondering if anyone noticed that they are wearing the same black pants they always wear....just a different top.

Thinking back to the last function I attended.....and by "function" I mean anything away from my house. Could have been a doctors appt or a trip to the grocery store. They all qualify as "functions" in my life now. I could not tell you what anyone was wearing (or not wearing...:o). And I think that's probably the way it is for most folks.

The only time I ever take note of something specific someone else is wearing is if I admire it......and I try to always tell them I like it.....or think it's pretty. I always love it when someone does that for me. Makes you feel good. Pay it forward when someone takes the time to compliment something you're wearing. Chances are they're feeling much the same way we do.
