Unhappy Ominous start of new year

Last year was absolutely terrible, had me ready to hide under a rock till all the bad blew over. This year thus far isn’t starting off much better. Yesterday while battling a nasty bout of bronchitis which had the doctor taking me off pain killers following my surgery and muscle relaxers minus the tiny bit from my baclofen pump so it doesn’t turn into pneumonia... my mother called... my niece was hit by a car while walking to work that morning. She’s home and recovering, but broke several vertebrae and it will take a while before the full extent of her injuries are known.

To make matters worse in a way, the one who hit her was only 19 and the defroster wasn’t working in her car, she was too inexperienced to realize she shouldn’t have been driving until she hit my niece. Doubtful she will ever make such a mistake in the future or allow her children to, but a shame that one so young is faced with such a trauma, really for both girls, as my niece is only 22.

So though the year’s just starting, I’m afraid to ask, but for those that pray if you could keep them both in your thoughts I’d really appreciate it. In the meantime... I’m considering building a bomb shelter for me and my family to hide away in till the fates have done with my family.
