Default Possitive Attitude

Ok, here we go again!

I need to change my attitude and get some possitive thoughts in here. So once again I am bringing back the Possitive Attitude thread.

Who's with me - anyone else need a possitive attitude adjustment?

You can do this, Char. It's hard sometimes, and I'm no shining example, but when I feel it slipping inside me, I cling to my faith, my friends, and my hope. Don't let go!

I don't remember what the positive attitude thread was about. LOL

But, YB you have so many positive things going on. You are going to school to better yourself and your career despite the MS. You are a single parent. You work full-time. That is absolutely awesome! Now, pick yourself up dear and pat yourself on the back. You have so much to be proud of.

Don't know if this will help you but when I get really stressed and can't sleep I pull out a notebook and write. I get it all out and once I start feeling more relaxed I write some positive things. Then I tear the page or sometimes pages out of the notebook and tear it shreds. I find after that I can get to sleep and feel much better.

Hang in there. Things have a strange way of working out.

I don’t know most of you, or your history, so my advice is not meant personally. These are just my personal mottos:

1. Be genuine, to myself and others.
2. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
3. Don’t twist every event into it being about MS in some way.
4. This disease is not an excuse. Deal with weight & other general health issues . . . so that I can be the best that I can be.
5. Accept “what will be”. Faith that “there is a reason” is very helpful for me.
6. Go through the grieving process, with each change, and then MOVE ON to my new reality.
7. How do I eat an elephant? . . . One bite at a time. Pace myself.
8. Relaxation techniques; yoga, hypnosis, etc.

I believe that whatever I didn’t learn in this life, I will repeat in my next. I don’t want to go through some things again . . . so I aim to learn from my mistakes.

Cherie

Hi There YB,

I never got to take part in the previous "Positive Attitude" thread but it's a wonderful idea!

I know you've got a lot on your plate right now what with school and family and just "stuff". But you've also accomplished alot, too. I admire anyone who goes back to school - and with MS - well, I just wish I had half of your determination.

My Mom always used to tell me that there was always someone worse off than me so I needed to count my blessings and not my trials. I know - easier said than done, huh? But I've always tried to look on the bright side of things - as HARD as that may be because sometimes there is just NOT a bright side - at least that we can immediately see.

Hang in there - we're all here for you when you need us!!

Hello my lil Yabbit friend.

I myself, have to try and remember to take time to stop and smell the roses.

I'm trying really hard to take one day at a time. Yest, I was in bed most of the day here at DD's. Traveling and weather change messed me up, but today is a new day and I'm moving forward.

You have alot of pressure on yourself right now.... I will think positive thoughts w/you.

<----------Guilty of recent mood swings!!

Hmmmm, lets see...what is a postitive thought? I know! I know!

It's almost the end of January, the worst, darkest, coldest month of the year. I know that spring is just around the corner, the cold days will soon change to warm days in the thirties

Another postitive thought? My DD is working thru things and has decided to go to Texas A&M starting next spring. DH and I are dreaming of a change. We want to move for a few years somewhere else to jump start our life again, and then return to our 'home' here.

Spreading good thoughts all around the boards!

I love what Lady Express said. I think that sums it up perfectly.

This may sound a little crazy but I'm always a little leary of someone who always has a "positive attitude". I believe you have to acknowledge the emotions that come with the challenges we face as human beings, not just as people with MS. You can't work through them unless you accept them first.

I'm really grateful that I have lived long enough & had enough "life experiences" to know that I'm strong & learned a few things along the way & am able to lead a happy life. Being grateful, even if it's just in the beauty of hearing a bird sing, can turn a negative thought around in seconds for me. If only I could always remember that.

Hang in there, kiddo. Looks like you've already started getting a positive attitude by starting this thread.
