. :grouphug:

I heard once also that the cyclone circles backwards...or counter clockwise...is that true? Amazing earth!!

I also think tornado time is months early? Southern folk? I asked earlier but think it's lost now

I got that all muddled up! Tornadoes are those viscious whirly winds, aren't they? We rarely have them, what I meant was hurricanes.....they're similar to our cyclones.

Sorry for the error. Was still a tad early in the morning for me when I wrote that.

LOL Koala!!!

Yes (still grining) a Hurricane is a Cyclone, and yours go the opposite way that ours do....

Do you have a name for tornado? I googled it and got nothing but Whirlwind....is that it down under?

FlyFishin Momma 02-06-2008 07:11 PM

There is a whole list of folks whom I have addys for that live in the states the storms have hit in the past 24 hours and many have not been on here.........

folks in TN,GA,VA,LA and the Carolinas...........

I so bad wanna post names to see if anyone has heard from them....but I promised not to give out personal info................

If anyone has heard from a board bud and knows all is well....please include a post here.......

I talked to Shelly (pickles) this am and they had a pretty rough night but the storms in Memphis, TN managed to get past them....Thank God........

oh yeah and YES this is early for our spring storm season....but it has been 70's and 80's here between the snows.....lol....its all crazy not anything to it is "NORMAL" !!!!! lol lol

anyone heard from anyone else in those states?

Pickles 02-06-2008 07:15 PM

Ha Ha! Still here!!!!

Sorry for not checking in sooner. Me and mine are just fine. I was standing outside watching the tornadoes for a while yesterday. They're pretty but they sure smell funky. Everyone east, watch out...this is truly a nasty storm.

I hope that those who haven't checked in will soon and it's just power out from the winds. (They were strong enough to knock me on my duff and I wasn't in a tornado!!)

Stay safe and warm,
Pickles

Whirlwind or eddie, would be the closest, but we rarely see destruction here with them....thank goodness.

DAY1 02-06-2008 08:19 PM

We get tornadoes whenever the weather wants too.

We have had tornadoes on Christmas Eve before.

You just know if you walk outside and it's warm when it's suppose to be cold, look out.

We knew days in advance it was coming. On Monday it was 73 degrees. I went walking with just a tee shirt. No coat.

There are times you can walk outside and it's too warm. You just know. It's tornado weather.

DAY

Interesting!! Thanks!

Koala77 02-06-2008 08:42 PM

I'm still waiting for some of the people I've exchanged post cards with to check in.

If you're on line ladies....we're worried about you.

Anne.

In Ohio we've had lots of rain and the temps are dropping now with snow expected next. This has been the craziest winter weather we've had in quite a while.

What my Neighbor said..:D
