Frown Scary news about my mom

Awhile back I posted about my mom having some health problems that I felt weren't being addressed by her pcp. Today my dad finally got her to go to the er. They live 1000 miles away from me btw. They did a ct scan and found a 'mass' behind her heart the size of a deck of cards. She is having it biopsied on Friday. Does anyone know about how long it takes to get the results back? I don't know whether I should try to get a flight now or wait until she gets the results. I'm supposed to have yet another mri and start Tysabri on the 13th. I really couldn't care less about my stuff right now. Regardless of whether it is cancerous, she will have to have it removed, if possible, because it is causing her to have problems because of it's location. Advice or info please, if anyone knows anything about this type of thing. My mom and I are very close so I am not objective att all.

Hi! First of all, let me just say that I'm sorry your Mom is going through this. My dear Mother had a tumour behind her pacemaker, that went undetected for a while. The biopsy only took a couple of days, but she was an inpaitient when they did it, so don't know if that helped speed up the results or not. Also, your Mom's is on Friday, so the results may not be available until the next week.

MY Mom was dealing w/Multiple Myeloma at the same time, and her condition was very advanced. We know that no two cases are alike, so hopefully your Mom's can be removed and she will be on the mend soon.

I can't tell you what to do Joelle, but just follow your heart. Please keep us posted. Praying for your Mom right now....

I know nothing!!! But I do have a big for you!!!!

Special prayers for Mom tonight that the mass will not have cancer and a quick recovery!!

Just a thought....Since they will take the mass no matter what....what are you waiting for? As soon as the surgery is scheduled, maybe you should be in the air by then? I suspect they won't put this off for weeks.....really sorry you and yours have this to go thru.....

Oh, Joelle,
I'm sorry to hear that your mom is going through all this. I don't have any advice either, but just wanted to say my thoughts and prayers are with you and your mom.
