Default Today is DDay

I just wanted to say today is the day my divorce is final

Maybe I shouldn't be so happy but I AM! I am the happiest and more importantly the healthiest I have been in 3 years! I am living proof that stress will make your MS sx worse. Once I removed myself from the stress I have only had one flare, where before it seemed like I was in a constant flare.

So, although I am now considered a divorced woman, I am a happy, healthy woman.

Today is the beginning of my new life. I never thought I would be a strong enough person to get a divorce but I did it. I did it for my health and mostly for my DS so I could be the mom that he needed me to be...not the mom who was always sick and in bed.

I hope you all have a great day! Life is too short!

Tracy, I'm glad this has been a positive move in your life.

It takes courage to do what you did but I'm glad things will continue to get better for you and your son.

Congrats!

Excellent news - it sounds like this is a big weight lifted off your shoulders.

It is funny that you say that because that was exactly how I felt when I moved out. I felt so much lighter, I know that is just a saying but I truly did.

Congrats

mine was on a on Friday the 13th,

was the one of the best days of my life, I got sole permant care and custody of my two sons. May sound harsh but their mom had serious mental issues and refused to stay on meds and believe the docs, so it was good for the kids and now since deb joined our lives she is mom,

I don't think it sounds harsh, it sounds like the right thing to do. Good for you! Congrats to you too!

Happy D-Day! You Go Girl!

I am glad that you have remained positive as divorce for many can be so emotionally draining.

Isn't it amazing what we will do for our children? I have been a single mom since DDs were 1 and 2. I left a not so good situation because I refused to raise kids in that environment. Fifteen years later and I have never looked back or thought twice about my divorce. I have been able to raise DDs in a more stable home and a happy one. In fact, DDs have often told me that they like being home as opposed to visiting their dad as we talk and laugh.

Congratulations, Tracy! I'm happy that you're happy!!

I hope things continue to improve for you and that you and your son can live peacefully and happily. You're right - stress can make our MS symptoms go haywire. I'm glad you're removing yourself and your son from that situation.

Enjoy your freedom!!
