Default update on me, the dog, my dad..

i haven't been around to much in the past few weeks but figured i give a little update if anyone was wondering..

well the good news first.. my insurance approved my TY and is covering it 100%... but for some reason they make me pay a $35 fee to go to an infusion center or maybe its the infusion center that charges it ... crud... i cant remember but i don't care ill take it.. so the last thing left is for me to get my MRI and then i can start the TY.. still unsure of when that will be since my neuro was calling to setup the appt.. but should be pretty soon here then i can go get my first infusion.. w00t!

my little dog with cancer is not doing the best but not really bad either.. the prednisone seems to be doing a pretty good job at keeping her feeling well and full of energy.. though she is sneezing a lot.. no idea why but my guess is it is from the prednisone..

my father.... well this is where it gets weird... he went to another neuro for a second opinion because his tremors are getting out of control.. and the new neuro is thinking he does not have Alzheimer's he thinks it is Parkinson's.... after my mother and I did some reading on Parkinson's.. we are not sure what to think now... seems the symptoms can be pretty close to each other in some areas.. so neither of us are sure what to think of it all.. they want to try him on some different meds to see if the shaking responds and if his mental weirdness calms down any.. so it is now another waiting game.. but who knows maybe this new batch of meds will be the ones that help whatever the heck he has.. ugh.. DRs **** me off sometimes...

other then that i am doing ok for the most part.. dealing with a little winter blues but that will pass like it always does once spring gets here.. had to finally go to a chiropractor and get my neck and back snapped into place.. so i am feeling pretty OK.. for now.. until i manage to put my neck/back out of place again..

i keep meaning to get one of those memory foam pillows as was suggested to me but i have been dragging my feet on it because i am a dink..

Sounds like things are looking up for you and your little dog, and still uncertainty about your dad.

But - I have to say that I just giggled when I read your last line. I think you cannot be a dink !!! ROFL Whatever a dink is... heheheheh

Hey Punk,

Thanks for checking in with us. However, I am sorry about all that is going on.

I hope they can find something that will work for your dad to help him out.

I am glad the dog and yourself are stable right now.

Hoping spring will be there soon to help you out of the winter blues. I have not mastered attaching photos here so I won't make an attempt. Just picture a warm spring day. That should help. If not . . .it's supposed to be in the 80's by the end of the week here!!! Think of that warmth.

Snoodles is right, what is a dink? A dork? LOL.

Sending lots of cyber's your way.

Glad to hear you are a GO w/the TY. Congrats! My lil Doxie has Lymphoma and if she goes out of remission, we give her oral pred. She acts like a lil pup again and so far, she's still in remission.

Cool to hear about the insurance approval for Ty. Hope it works out for ya.

I hear you about docs. Hopefully, they got it right this time for your dad.

Thanks for the update.

Hi Punk!

Good to see you back on the boards. I'm glad to hear that your dog is responding well to the medication - it's so hard to tell with them because they can't verbalize what they're feeling.

I hope you can get some answers about your Dad and find something that will help him, too.

And congratulations on the insurance approval for the Ty. Good for you - I hope it works well for you.

yeah it is really frustrating to finally make your peace with knowing a family member has one problem.. then later being told later "oh wait.. that may not be it"

but in reality neither disease is a easy cut and dry Dx.. i know some MSer know that all to well.. so i guess you could say my dad is on limbo island at the moment just not for MS..
