I talked to Joelle today and she asked me to post an update on her Mom.

They have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow morning at 9 AM. Her Mom is in a significant amount of pain. She said she (Joelle) plans on asking the doctor lots of questions tomorrow and hopefully they will be given some sort of a plan of action.

Joelle plans on being there for another two weeks at least. She only has Internet access through her cell phone so she doesn't post much but she can access the site and read posts occasionally.

She said to thank everyone for all their prayers and good wishes. She's doing good after her first TY infusion and plans on being back home for the next one.

Everyone please keep praying for her Mom - sounds like she has a long road ahead of her but she is young (only 64) and can fight this!

Thanks so much for the update Kelly! I've been worried sick over what Joelle and her family have been going thru. I'm so glad she was able to go be with her Mom and I've no doubt her experience with doctors will be a blessing to a family who needs someone to step up to the plate.

Joelle, if you are reading this....many many blessings sent your way. You are missed here, but we know about priorities. So glad the Ty is going well for you too, glad you got on it, all I've read about it says it's the best thing since buttered bread; Well, maybe not that.....take care of yourself darlin'...

OK - I called Joelle at her parent's this morning to see how her Mom (and Joelle) is doing. I cannot remember if I posted the outcome of her Mom's first doctor's visit or not but the dx was cancer. Joelle said that she will have to see an oncologist and have further testing.

They had to take her Mom to the ER yesterday morning because she was having terrible headaches and couldn't keep anything down. They were waiting for her insurance to authorize a PET scan (which they hadn't yet) but decided to let the ER do it while ahe was there - they did several other tests, too, to determine if anything was going on with her brain that shouldn't be. It was fine - she must have just had the flu bug but they kept her because she was dehydrated.

They are hoping she will come home today or tomorrow. Joelle is exhausted but will be flying home on Sunday, March 9th because she will have to have her 2nd infusion of TY before making another trip up north.

She said to tell everyone here thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts being sent their way. She will check back in when she gets home and has the use of a computer.
