I'm so far beyond distraught right now. I just found out that my Grandma who lives clear across the country from me collapsed and is in the hospital. I feel like I'm going to throw up.
They say she has dementia - I already knew that and have been begging my step father who is in charge of her affairs to move her out here to be with me. I was so afraid this was going to happen and now it did. They said she might have had a heart attack, too and no one knows what her prognosis is. I really can't handle this right now. I can't handle another loss so soon after my mom died. My Grandma and brother are really the only close family I have left. Please anyone who prays keep her in yours tonight. Her name is Elaine.

Holly, I'm so sorry. I'll pray for her - and you, too. She's where she needs to be - they can give her the medical attention she needs right now. I know it must be so hard to be far away and not able to be there - just know that prayers are being sent up for her tonight. Please keep us posted on her progress.

Thanks everyone. I just keep crying and praying and trying to keep my mind off of it by playing stupid computer games (obviously that isn't working if I'm still crying, huh?).
I alternate between wanting her to hang on just so I can see her one more time and just wanting her to have peace because I know how bad dementia can get. I keep going over in my mind how hard I prayed for my mom to pull through her heart crisis that uncovered her cancer so that I could have one more visit with her. While I really am glad I got to see her once more, I would gladly give that back after seeing how badly she suffered for the next couple of months. I think watching my mom die like that is what really put my Grandma over the edge. I don't know how she got through watching her only child die in such a horrible way. I keep going back to just praying for God's will to be done and to have peace and strength enough to accept His will. It's just so hard. I really have to pull myself together here. I hope that I can get some sleep.
