Oh Char~ I really am sad to hear about this. It's just been one stressful thing after another for you. I do believe what the others have said tho~ I think there is a new plan out there for you.
I will keep you and DBF in my prayers and hope that things start to turn around for you NOW. You know you can come here and vent anytime. That's one of the great things about NT; seems like there's always someone who has been down the same path w/advice and a willingness to help. take care dear Char and like Kay said~~ Open that window. |
I can imagine the stress you are going through. We didn't have the same expereience, but we had to sell the house (gardenhome) we owned in order to move here a little over a year ago. We LOVED that house. It was the first house that we bought together, and everything about it was special to us.
We moved up here, and tried to find a home quickly, but instead ended up leasing while we were building our "dream home". Unfortunately, the builder building our dream home went into bankruptcy, and our "dream home" is sitting half finished with no one willing to take it on because of the market. We hadn't put much down, and our bank had insurance so nothing was lost. We've been living in a leased home since we moved here, and although we didn't like it at first, it's begun to grow on us. A house is a home for the things and the people in it. We feel comfortable here now, and it does feel like home now when I pull into the driveabout after a long day's work. It will work out, and you'll find a place to live. Eventually you will make it "your" home. A house is just four walls and a roof afterall. It's what inside that makes it a "home". GOOD LUCK! |
Char, I am sorry you have to move. But something is telling me this will be a great thing for you. A new start and a new home. It can be a great thing in the end. If you are concerned about moving so fast do what Jim and I did. Throw everything that isn't of great value into boxes. If it makes it, you keep it. If it doesn't, you get to finally throw it away! You wont believe all the stuff we ended up getting rid of that we didn't need.
Sometimes it's hard to look at the positive at things. I see this as a new step for you and a new beginning for you and DBF in your first house together. God will lead you and show you where you belong. I truly believe that. |
You don't mention trying to refinance. Is it possible to work this out? The government has forced many things on the Mortgage companies to try to keep people in their homes, it's worth a moment to check it out.
So sorry you are being faced with this....I hope things do work out, some how, some way. |
Thank You Everyone.... it is so hard to see David walking around the house in a fog - I know he is wondering how we are going to get through this, I keep telling him some how we will as long as we keep leaning on each other and we are doing that......
We looked at two houses today. One was a thanks but no thanks. 25 miles out of town on a road that has more bumps and pot holes that you can only drive 35 miles an hour the whole trip. Then when we get out there the house has 3 small and I mean small bedrooms, only wood heat and no washer / dryer hook up. We said thanks but not for us. The other house is a good potential - he is a friend of David's but he has to show it to a few more people this week and then is going to make their decission. The house has a pool and enough room for both girls to have a bedroom. The only problem there is the next door neighbor lets her dog run loose and she is miss busy body and has to know everything that is going on and has no problem asking you what she wants to know. Has been known to just walk into the house and come right in to sit and ask for a cup of tea. I don't like that..... We have a few more calls out there and hoping something will come up in the next couple of weeks. RW - David works in South West Harbor so we can't go to far south, we have looked in Bucksport area but haven't seen anything yet. Keep you fingers crossed for us. |
Will keep prayers going that you find the perfect house.

We just got a call back from a lady who lives in NY but has a house here in Maine she wants to keep but can't afford both. This house is 3 minutes from David's work and 25 from mine but an hour from school but that is ok.... The house is good size, in a small coast tourist town and she will allow all 3 dogs! Which is a bonus!!! David will be able to go home for lunch and let them out and he is back and forth by the house a few times a day going from the boat yard to the shop..... it really is a perfect house! We will see....

Wow! That's sounds great! Praying hard for the right results (what ever they end up to be). :)

Char, I'm sorry you are going through all of this. I will keep my fingers crossed that you will find a new home with the dogs and that everything works out. Please keep venting to us, we're all here for you!

David looked at the house this morning and liked it but he would like me to see it before we make a decision so I going to go and see it after work today. He said that it is certainly city life compared to country life that we are used to. It will certainly be a different type of living!
