I was having breakfast with a friend at a hotel once, and a woman from another table started walking toward us, smiling. Later in the day, my friend confessed that she had been thinking, "Now what in the world is SHE coming over HERE for?" in a suspicious and vaguely annoyed way.
I, on the other hand, was thinking, "Oh, I wonder why she's coming over here?" in an anticipatory way. Did she recognize one of us from "back in the day"? Was she just friendly and going to introduce herself? My friend admits that she is not a "people person". I think I am! Now I'm not totally naive; I am wary of strangers bearing gifts, and I don't pick up hitchhikers, etc. But like my Mom, I can make a new friend in line at the grocery store. I am curious about everybody, and always suspect that I have something in common with just about anyone I meet. Do you consider yourself a people person?

I'm definitely a people person . I can make friends with people on the phone from technical support, LOL!! I usually know if they're married, have kids, where they live etc. by the time I hang up! I don't ask a lot of personal questions. People just start telling me stuff, tehe. I guess I must sound friendly

Yes!! I love talking to people and usually strike up a conversation in line at the grocery store, at the doctor's office, just anywhere.
I can tell by the reaction of the other person if they are a "people person" or not. Sometimes they just look at me like "lady, just move on" and sometimes they respond nicely and we chat. Now, if someone looks suspicious or not safe (how DO you tell nowadays??) I usually won't speak up but senior citizens and people with children are usually OK!!

Yes, I am totally a people person. My DD and my Mom always used to ask me who that was I was talking to in a store or wherever, and I'd just say, Oh, I don't know, we were just chatting. I'll just tell someone I like their hair or their shoes, etc and start talking.
I totally get that trait from my Gram and my Dad.

I can talk to any one, years of driving a truck and having to deal with people, some ticked off.
Always nice to be sitting on a scooter in wal-mart talking to my hand, agent 7 to base? People think I am crazy! No ! I know my hand doesn`t have ears! Just gotta see a re-action sometimes. LOL

I think I am but on my own terms. The jobs I've had where I've been happiest involved working closely with other people (waiting tables, PT aide). The job where I sit on my butt at a computer making 10x as much is not nearly as satisfying.
But, I also really like to be left alone. I don't answer my phone unless I really want to (and I don't even have caller ID!); and I love my solitude. If I feel like I've been out too much and other people are making too many demands on my time - I get cranky. So, I guess, I'm not really sure. |

I'm definitely not a people person. Been abused by too many of them.

Nope, not a people person.
There's actually very few people I like or care to be around

Some would think that I am by the way that I chat away online... but in all actuality... I am painfully shy!!!!
I even struggle when it comes to calling or stopping by my closest friend's house.... Abbie
