Default What's Your Favorite Spring/Summer Food?

Spring and Summer always make me think of popsicles, tomatoes and watermelon!!

What's your favorite food for warm weather?

My Mom used to grow tomatoes - and we'd have some of the best tomatoes ever in the summer. We'd make "mater sandwiches - white bread smothered with mayonnaise, thick slices of tomatoes with salt and lots of pepper. Mmmmmmmm......so good. That with some potato chips and sweet tea - it just doesn't get any better.

Mmmmm....I love cucumbers. Especially if they are cold - slice them up and sprinkle with salt and pepper. I might just have to buy some tomatoes and cucumbers today!

Mine used to be tomatoes and strawberries from my garden when I lived in PA. Now? It's summer all of the time south Florida but the tomatoes are carpy year round and the strawberries are always good.

My favorite warm weather dish is 'snow pudding'. It's an old family dish. It's a clear/lemony jello with a lemony creamy sauce topper *yummy*

Default lemonade cake!

When it is hot this cake is great. I use to make it for teachers on field day. They always loved it.

Yum....home grown corn on the cob is the best. My grandmother used to grow Silver Queen corn and it was so good - she'd boil it and them smother it in butter and salt.

Why was food so good back then but when I try to do it the taste just isn't the same??
