Strong winds, etc. I think we are too cold to get a tornado, but you never know. Last year I lost my screened porch to strong winds.

Stay safe everyone!

Sandy, you too! Stay safe tonight. I will be thinking of you all tonight, praying that you all make it through these storms. :grouphug:

Julie - use this opportunity to play verbal type games. You could also use your laptop (I am assuming that is what you are using right now as you don't have electricity) and take a cyber vacation with them. Search some foreign country, look at the pictures, and play an imagination game of what it would be like to be there and what would they do. Or, look at paintings on the internet and have the kids talk about what they are seeing; colors, interpretations, designs, etc. Have fun with it. As I am sure you know, bored kids mean trouble. LOL

Please stay safe! :grouphug: Keep us posted.

I'm fine. The storms seem to be missing us. My husband works in Little Rock. I called him earlier. Sirens were going off in Little Rock. It was a strong storm, but no Tornado developed. THank goodness. Little Rock got pounded last week. They still have the national guard out blocking enterences to neighborhoods.

Looks like its starting to clear out. Here, we've had a little rain and a little thunder. That's about it.

Kay, I sure hope you guys are alright.

I'm having to use my cell phone, I have the kids out in the back playing right now, its very nice and breezy. Our whole back yard is shady so we can play all without worring too much about sun burnes.

I've been in Tulsa for 4 days. I left there this morning during a wild storm! Can we say E-ticket ride at disney! Yeehaw!!

Anyway, flooding, thunderstorms, lightening, hail, tornadoes, you name it, I saw it while I was there.

I have been all over the country today trying to get home...Tulsa, OKC, LAS, PHX, and now I am in Salt Lake City....I am NOT spending the night so I am headed to Twin Falls and driving home from there.

I hope everyone survives the nasty weather in the mid/southwest. It's windy and cloudy here, but I can handle that.

Remember the saying - turn around, don't drown when you see high water on the roadway!!!

It's raining cats and dogs here and is supposed to continue for the next four days. There's been a flash flood watch going on. I worry about the folks in the trailer park down the street from work. They're right on the river.

momXseven 04-10-2008 03:16 PM

they are saying the power may take 2 days to get on. I finnally found some dry ice, $70.00 for 5 bags (we 2 fridge and a deep freeze full of food).
