LOL Sal!
The instructions were very specific as to who could actually claim the child in the case of divorced parents where the custody is joint custody and one parent has signed away rights to claim the exemptions and credits for children. He provides 100% of the support for the child and it's not a token amount. The worst part of it is that we would have given her the money anyway to use for extra stuff for the child! She had to play games and she hung herself by doing so. She's done it before. I'd rather not get into it here, but suffice to say that the government didn't take kindly to what she did last time and she paid for it. Ah well, it's out of my hands and it's not my problem, it's theirs!
