Default What do you sleep in?

I used to sleep in pajamas, but they got uncomfortable.

I tried a nighgown, but I felt like it was choking my body when I would turn over.

Now I'm sleeping in an XXL T-shirt, and that seems to be starting to bother me. Not as much as the nightgown, but enough to be an irritation.

I tried nothing at all but it felt weird, kind of volunerable.

Any ideas?

I sleep in satiny PJs, that way they don't get caught up with the sheets when you turn over.

Sweet dreams!

Just curious by what you mean "irritation"? Is it burning your skin; you are hypersensitive to the wrinkles in the fabric, are you flipping around too much because of pain ... or what?

Jim sleeps in a hospital gown. That way it's not on his back and doesn't bind. We buy them from a medical supply place.

oversize T shirt, or just underwear

waveless water bed with a memory foam type topper

satin sheets or a combo of satin & regular - if all satin is too slippery- mix a top or bottom of flannel, cotton or jersey.
I get then at the local discount store so they are about the same $$ as regular sheets.

I really like the combo.

If it's a tossing /turning problem the toppers really have helped for us.
relieves the pressure points.
I do suggest getting the next size up if you share a bed with a partner as they tend to run a bit small.

I'm a real Princess-an-the-Pea when it comes to sleeping.

lumps bumps, wrinkles, and heavy bedding, in combination with my weakness and spasticity have been *huge* issue for me.

my solution is an extra-firm orthopedic mattress, topped with a three-inch layer of dense foam padding.

then, I make sure the bottom sheet is TIGHTLY stretched, and fastened at the corners with those clip-on thingies (sorta like old garter-belt clamps)

I use high thread-count combed cotton sheets (500 or 600) which have a slippery feel after many washings.

and I wear a cotton T-shirt and panties. snug-fitting, so it doesn't bunch or wrinkle up underneath me.

since I spend half my life in bed, I figure it's critically important to indulge in a bit of expense to make sure it's comfortable.

then, I can turn over easily even in deep sleep, which keeps me from getting all spazzed out... because if I can't roll over easily, I'll just stay put, even in my sleep, and wake up in agony, and hobble around for an HOUR before I get the kinks out.

luckily, mi esposo is a hot-sleeper like you, Frank, and tosses off covers, rather than bunching them up... he slept with the windows open, even as a child back in frigid Poland.

Not so much skin irritation as the sleeves getting twisted on my arms, then I have to untwist them. It becomes a struggle. Sometimes I get twisted up in the sheets, also. I flip and flop all night long!
