Oh, and Janie--I was trying to remember who it was at my Post Office that delivered the chicks to Bob. Hmm. Oh, now I remember! That would have been ME!

Awww...I'm sorry the first little babies didn't make it but I hope the next batch is healthy. They're SO cute when they're babies.
My grandmother used to have chickens and I can remember when there were babies - we used to want to hold them and she wouldn't let us! The adult chickens would peck at our feet and ankles whenever we went into their area - guess they thought we were going to feed them. That or they thought we WERE the feed! I hope you post some pics of the new delivery when they arrive!

I always HATED my grandmother's chickens! I had to go get the eggs, which meant reaching under hens that didn't want to be reached under. I got pecked so many times, when my Gramma made roast chicken I ate it with gusto. And gravy.

Well, the newbies are settled in and right now everybody looks hale and hearty, all 60 of them. We were out there today doing what you do for baby chicks when they "paste up", and while I was there, I took a couple of pictures:

I'll tell Bob he should use some lotion after he does the dishes.
