Sandy, Sorry to hear about everything going on. I hate that sometimes when it rains it pours, seemingly non-stop. Praying for ya!

Thank you everyone. I feel a little better today but still stressed. We are waiting to hear from the doctor. We are praying this can be taken care of with antibiotics. I already put a call into the VA for all of Jim's medical records from 2000. This is getting ridiculous to say the least. Going to the VA every month, sometimes more, four hours round trip is nuts. Jim is ticked and wants a second opinion. He said if the spinal cord doctor, who we really like btw, gives him trouble he's dropping him too. He is not a urologist and should be professional enough to accept that Jim deserves to seek another opinion.

My mom's b-day is today and we talked for a bit. She is scared about this new disease. Jim and I talked her through it and told her one day at a time.

Nik got someone to help him move out thank goodness. He understands we are sitting in limbo and he's ticked off as well about this bladder thing. I may find us sitting at an local ER to get Jim care if his doctor gives us a hard time. He has no fever, feels fine. He shouldn't have to go into the hospital for ten days when he could do this at home. You all know if he was bad off I would be the first one to take him in. I think the VA is getting so much slack from their care that they are overreacting now. Jim had so many tests ran this year that says his bladder is not diseased. Even urology said he doesn't need to be seen anymore from them.

Now you know why we are seeking a second opinion. Something doesn't add up. If his bladder if fine, why the infections so much? Wouldn't it be cool if we saw another urologist and he said Jim could reverse the urostomy? Wishful thinking but you never know. Anyone know of a hospital that doesn't have students in it? lol

I'll update as soon as I talk with the doctor. I think I may have to give Jim a nerve pill before he speaks to him.

Cindy and everyone going to the gtg. I am sorry but as you can guess, Jim and I wont be there. I know you all understand. I didn't think I would make it anyway because Nik needed me but now with Jim's condition in the air, it's for sure. I was going to come up with Nik and surprise you all if we had enough time. I am sorry.

Just saw this - thanks for the update. That does sound pretty stressful. Sometimes it seems like they try to make it harder just because they can. Good luck and I hope that you get some better options than 10 days in a hospital.

Glad things seem to be simmering down a bit. Sometimes it just gets overwhelming, doesn't it? I hope Jim can do his antibiotics at home - seems like that would be the most cost effective way to go but we're talking about the government here so nothing would surprise me....

Take care of yourself - stress can play dirty tricks on us if we're not careful. Happy Birthday to your Mom.

Hi Sandy~ I'm late seeing this too, as haven't been online. Sorry that Jim is having prob's again and I know you are stressed about your Mom, too. Just too much for ya to deal with.

Maybe another opinion would help. All you can do is try.

Sending hugs and prayers your way...

*take care of yourself too*
