I have a REALLY SERIOUS mouse phobia.

When my dog TinyMonsters was alive, he was a great mouser. (and baby opposum killer...and those baby opposums arent cute little critters...the one my dog killed was leaping for my dad's face when Tiny caught it in his mouth and broke it's neck...I wish I had video of that...darnit!)

What we used at the old house when we had a bit of a problem was Terminix, Orkin, and glue board traps with Reeses' Peanut Butter Cups on them.

Nothing beats a 100+ pound Bouvier des Flandres chasing down a mouse and the mouse chose slow death in a glue box to quick death in the slavering jaws of TinyMonsters.

Of course, Tiny picked up the glue box and put the nasty thing out of it's misery. (good thing it was a box, that glue is really sticky.)

I really miss my big Wookiee dog.

Dare I say it? I have 3 cats. One inparticular is a mouser. It can be messy at times, but the mice stay far from my home.

Have you tried to put rat poison near the circuit boards or electrical wiring? They will eat that before moving on to your electronics. I had mice in my shed, poo all over the place. I placed a couple of boxes of poison and haven't heard from them again.

LOL, DM...I swear, everytime I depend on DSIL to help me with something, in a hurry, he disappoints me. There is no excuse for it....He had the Day off yesterday, due to a Nanny, who's salary, I help DD pay. But where oh where was Brian? Even DD didn't know..

I keep moving my stairlift and meow & hiss like a cat..., in hopes it will keep them away, until I can get some peanut butter traps...sheesh....I hate to be dependent on such a neanderthal.

I had two cats, years ago...one of them was a mouser, always bringing me gifts.. ..and the other one, played with butterflies...LOL...so I know what you mean, MotorsMommy..LOL!

Update: DSIL brought 2 humane mousetraps over and put one at the top and one at the bottom of stairlift.

He doesn't want to use poison with peanut butter, because, my back door is open and he was afraid it might attract a squirrel and he's a woose..LOL!...so he used cheese....and he will come and get them, if they're strupid enough to crawl into these traps, and release them somewhere else..

This should be fun...Not..

Sally, I hope you'll call an exterminator. My sister had a mouse problem and had four indoor cats at the time!

She swears that someone in her neighborhood was breeding them and feeding them a good diet until they evolved with a higher level of sneakiness.

The guy she called sealed some entryways the mouse was using and I think that's all it took.

I hope you can get this solved soon! That is an expensive problem!

I went the cat route.

The only problem is that when they ran out of indoor guests they proceeded to the outdoor "friends" Now it's mouse parts and birdies brought in for our "pleasure"

The birdies are usually still living, catching them is a family affair with us trying to corral both cats AND the bird, the cats trying to escape so they can join in the fun, and the poor birdies just wanting OUT through any means possible, including flying into plate glass windows, which sort of defeats the whole "releasing them alive" desire of the humans.

It's hard to release a bird after it breaks it's neck.

Whatever you do, I hope it works, Sal!!

I'm all for mouse poison. There are probably more mice in the world than there are humans, so letting the little nasties live is just leaving them to make even more of them.

When it comes to mice and rats, I dont have any sympathy for them. If they're dead, I dont have to worry about those particular ones coming back and making more.

Wow Sally that's awful. I think I might have to send Sage to
make a visit. She goes after the squirrels in the back yard and is
great at it. Squirrel, mouse, rat, RODENTS all in the same family.

Hope DSIL's traps work. Make sure that when he lets them go
that it is faaaaaaaaar away.

YOU NEED A CAT !!!!!!
