Sen. Ted kennedy has a Cancerous Brain Tumor..
I am a great admirer of the Kennedy Family.. I was just a teenager when JFK became Prez. I loved John, Robert and Edward Kennedy. They had a good and maybe, some, not so good Combination of their Parents.. They had and have plenty, but taught their children and their children's children, to give back to their country and it's people. I will always admire this great character, in all of them. I wish Ted nothing but the best and hope that he heals and lives to serve another 45 yrs in the Senate. Please say a prayer for Ted and his Family...Thanks..

Although I don't agree with a lot of what you have written I must say I would not wish this on anyone. I did hear he had a "stroke," or "seizure," but did not hear this latest tid-bit. I do wish him well, and hope that it is operable =)

I met him when we were stationed in Boston. The law firm that I worked for was involved with some fund raising events that involved one their foundations. I also met him once when I went to DC. We "bumped" into each other outside the Gallery during a debate on the Senate floor...and I mean literally bumped into each other. He wasn't looking where he was going and I couldn't get out of his way fast enough. It was rather comical!

I've never been a big fan of Kennedy, but I do feel sorry for him. A glioma (or glioblastoma, whichever they eventually say that it is) is a scary thing.
One of our neighbors lost her husband to a glioblastoma. I never knew her husband, but my dad used to work with him. (my dad's a nurse, her husband was a doctor at the same hospital my dad works at) The guy went very quickly. (think he had stage four brain cancer) I'm scared that my brain has MS digging holes in it, but the thought of brain cancer is so much more terrifying. Hopefully Kennedy will have one of the least nasty forms of brain cancer and can survive much longer than if he has one of the nastier ones.

I heard it too, Sally. I'm hoping that he responds well to whatever treatment they decide to go with. I didn't realize he is 76 years old! In the pictures I've seen of him he doesn't look it.

They are saying on the news (specualtion) that surgery probably is not an option. The Kennedy family obviously is not perfect, but they have sacrificed alot for our country. So I think we can all agree that they deserve our prayers whether or not you agree with their politics.

I cried when John F. Kennedy was killed, I cried when Bobby was killed. I cried even harder when John John died. Today I cried again. I may not have always agree with their life style but I believe they were true Americans. Pain and grief comes no matter what your name may be. I should pray for him and his family.

This is EXACTLY what happened to my husband and I was so afraid that he might get this dx.
My husband's had a grand mal seizure - then dx with a glioma and it turned out to be a glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is, by definition - a grade IV cancer so the prognosis is terminal. This type tumor has "tentacles" that reach out in all directions into other tissues so that even when removed surgically and no tumor is seen - it is still there hiding in the tissues and regrows. It can double in size every 2 weeks (if I recall correctly). A few people (very rare) have survived this type but it is basically considered a miracle. Maybe Senator Kennedy's will at least NOT be the Glioblastoma but all Glioma's are very bad. I respect that family - I realize that many people don't care for them but I do respect their commitment to social programs and giving back. I pray that he can recover !!!

A Dr on the news said that his tumor is the fast growing kind and that even if they shrink it, they come back. The prognosis does not look favorable.
But, as we know, none of us is in control of that. Keeping their family in my prayers. They have been through alot. And yes, Sam~~ I cried when JFK and RFK were murdered. And, I held on to hope that John Jr would be found alive too. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when Walter Kronkite said tearfully on the news that Pres Kennedy had died.
