Good job, Kelly! I'm a huge advocate of making those calls! Hold your breath now, bundles aren't always the best option. Most of the "deals" expire like yours did and it's buyer beware.
Another good way to go is to call directly into the cancellation department, they've kept my com bills at the same amount or lower for the last 5 years. My theory is that as the tech advances, the competition increases and gives me more leverage. Apparently, they see it that way as well. Fight for your right to get it cheaper!! Silly, silly Anne, that money is mine!

I just read on another thread that there's 4 x $200 prizes, so that's OK, we'll have one each AMN and if we do it again, maybe we'll get two goes at the cash!

That's great news!
Oh how I miss being able to do stuff like that! I'm in one of those pockets of monopoly given as a part of the deregulation process. For those big utilities to agree to let it happen, the government let them have little pockets of the country where they are still the only available provider. Just our luck, we are in one of those areas. LOL, If we moved only one development away, we'd be in a different situation.

Way to go on saving money, Kelly! After speaking with my cable/internet provider I found buying services "a-la carte" was actually less expensive than "bundling" the plans, as AMN suggested earlier. The original plan my ex-husband arranged was for $50/month/both services for three months, $80/month after six months, and $110/month after one-year.
At the end of the conversation the company settled on $40.00 a month for both services -- and without a contract! Of course I made changes to the services because the original plan offered more than what I actually needed, so it is always good to find out what the "bundle" offers. Another thing individuals can do is call their utility companies and ask for some type of "budget" billing. With the natural gas provider I arranged for my monthly charges to be based on the averaged yearly costs. This way costs are equally divided throughout the year thus avoiding having to pay alot more in the winter months when more energy is used. I plan on doing the budget billing with my water/sewer/trash/electricity provider (the city) after I have services for over a year with them.
