TV? What's that? LOL. I don't think my TV has been on in the last several days. DD16 did watch The Bachelorette the other night and that was the last time it was on. (OT - What a dumb show. LOL. I did watch the ending of it last season and all I saw was the bloopers from it. Now that was entertaining. Far more than the show itself.)
I don't have cable so all I have is the local channels. Nova on PBS is one of my favorites to watch. I love that show. Many of the shows on ABC, CBS, and NBC can be watched on their website without commercials. Additionally there are lots of sites on the internet where you can watch other shows too. Reading . . .I have a stack of books my sister gave to me that I haven't even started. Barb - I've read all of those books with the exception of the "Kite Runner." DD16 read it and loved it. I gave her "A Thousand Splendid Suns" for Christmas and she loved that one as well. |

Awww come on guys, you are putting me out of a job.
I work in advertising, specifically placing TV commercials. Please watch for Shelley, pretty please????? all I need is atleast 8 hours a day from each of you. Bet you would be surprised that each year the amount of TV America watches increases. Last edited by watsonsh; 06-04-2008 at 12:44 PM. |

I do have a TIVO that I would be very upset if I couldnt use. I LOVE Lost, and House. I LOVE family guy, and south park. I just want to watch them when I want to watch them. I can kick back and relax when I am ready.
there are many things I appreciate about my TV. its just that lately, it is full of people spouting opinions that dont mean much to me. I am tired of all of the arguements that I hear, and everyone standing with hands on hips, head bobbing to prove their points. GAH! I am on book 10 of Evanovich. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the grandma! She is a real hoot.

I'm a bookworm, complete with the glasses - LOL
Of course I married another bookworm, and sometimes it seems like the books are taking over the house. Even when I go through a clean up period of donating books, we just have a ton that we like to read over and over again. We tivo the shows we like to watch, but now that they are on repeats until next season - we're not watching the tv as much.

I don't watch TV, it hasn't been connected to anything but a video or dvd player for the last ten years or so. I do what Bets does, I rent or buy complete series and watch them on and off over two or three weeks. My reading material recently has been Richard Bach and Terry Pratchett books. I must confess to spending a lot of time on the computer, especially in the evenings.

I dvr just about anything I watch and then watch it later skipping over the commercials (sorry Shelley!). I will go out of my way now to not start watching something right as it comes on so that I can "catch up" later by skipping through the commercials.
As it is, there are only a few shows I really care about anyways...mostly real life (not fake scripted "reality" shows that are just glorified soap operas) such as Deadliest Catch, Everest: beyond the limit, and Amazing Race. I do record Jeopardy every day and watch it as my "cognitive function exercise" for the day. |

even though Weaveworld is BIG (672 pgs), I crammed that one in my suitcase when I moved abroad. some books you just can't leave behind. PS: we have no TV in the jungle... but sometimes download TV shows to watch...
