I too thought it was funny. Political humor/ cartooning is somtimes taught at the university level. They are not considered to be effective/funny if someone is not offended.

I saw it and thought it was funny. Did I respond to it? If not, I meant to. lol

So with that said, this Obama Mamma (I can say that right?) says it was funny honey!

I didnt think it was funny. I happen to like George Bush and didnt think the jokes making fun of him were funny. The entire joke seemed to be a slam on Republicans. (can you tell that I'm a republican?)

Politics is one of three topics that I dont think should be discussed anywhere unless you want someone getting royally ticked off.

Sally is one of the most gentle people here at NT. I hardly doubt she meant to offend or slam anyone, this is why she has this thread up. It was a joke and meant only in humor. Even George W jokes on himself. I am sure, outside of the White House he is friendly and great to be around.

For the record I am not of any party and vote for who I feel is and will be the best candidate. I have voted both parties, so for me, it's not an issue.

I cannot bear the shame! I'm bringing the little one back now, and I beg your forgiveness DM ...

Here's your little mate DM ...

I promise I'll never do that again! Can we ever be friends again?

I'm pleading with you to let this little hiccup pass by without it impinging on our friendship........

Let by-gones be by-gones DM. I said I sorry!

I guess it was my fault. Right after I posted saying I didn't see the humor, it disappeared. I wasn't trying to lobby to have it removed or anything...I was just pointing out that the title stating that it "wasn't political, just funny" really depended on your point of view. Given that it regurgitated a number of bush derangement syndrome talking points (i.e. Bush stole the election, etc) I didn't see how it could possibly be seen as not political. Given that a number of media organizations and private groups spent millions trying to find a way after the election to recount votes in a way that would show Gore won...and failed, I just can't see how continuing the lie that the 2000 election was stolen is funny at all. It casts doubt upon the integrity of our electoral system that hindsight has proven is not deserved. Maybe I am a traditionalist or just a stickler for the facts, but I just don't see the humor in repeating a mantra that undercuts the legitimacy of our government to the rest of the world when the mantra is based on something proven to be untrue.

I am normally an equal opportunity offender when it comes to what I enjoy humorwise, but that one was more sad than funny to me. But again...I wasn't trying to get it taken down with my comments. Sorry to others if that was the result of what I posted.
