Default Father's Day suggestions??

Ok..maybe it's because my brain is currently full of air but I honestly can't think what to get my father or ex-husband for father's day. Maybe I should give a giftcard but I don't want to be corny. I really have no clue what to buy them. Thankfully, I have till the 15th.. does anyone have father's day suggestions or what you're buying the man/men in your life??

oh ..fathers day.. so that's why my estranged father called me this week. He wants a present. I knew he had something in mind.

Hmm.. I'm not good at suggestions for fathers day since I'm about half tempted to pinstripe my dad's mercedes with Krylon, or light a bag of cow dung on his porch.

If i cared, I'd buy him a new tv remote, or a house phone that was really nice, or a gift certificate for his favourite resteraunt.

since i don't care, I guess i better get a shovel and find a cow field before it rains today.

what is your price range?

what are his hobbies and favs?

Cant go wrong with a picture frame with a photo of your children smiling up at him.

My dad is old as dirt (almost 86) and has just about everything he's ever wanted, so I try to get him things that go away or get used up. This year, he's getting a gift certificate for a car detail (it's really for me). I was going to surprise him while he's away, but I am NEVER getting into that nasty thing again!!!!!

In previous years I've given him things he can use, I built custom shelves for his fishing reel collection once, a leather business card filer, a humidor, a CD collection of old music he likes, etc. His birthday is in July and I think he's getting an iPod for the car. He won't even know it's in there, I'll just show him how to pick the songs he wants. LOL, that's even asking a lot!

Dads are so hard to buy for...they usually have everything. My dad usually gets a tool or something for his garden. For his bday he got a regular size flashlight. He had been using a pocket flashlight for everything. Finally my mom asked if I could get him a regular size one. He was amazed how much more he could see! hehehe

Oh yeah! His fav is scratch tickets! Those are always a safe bet.

My dad just loves a gift card to Home Depot. Fathers Day, Birthday, Christmas, the man always needs something from there and can never have enough stuff to tinker with.

Love the idea of car detailing. We do that for DH's grandfather.

Thank you for the suggestions. *grin* For my dad's last birthday I went to Spencer's Gifts (use your imagination at the debauchery I got involved with I didn't want to send him boring gifts but my poor Catholic mother almost had a coronary.. heh. I probably will get my ex a desk at walmart (they are marked down I don't have a price range I just don't know what he needs. My dad.. hmm maybe get him some Boston Celtics/Patriots/Red Sox collectibles or something.

Even though I want to strangle my ex, I have to be nice.. he did give me $1000 for mother's day

If you were closer Id send you to mr sox. My dh's hobby is car detailing.
(a little ****, ya think?) You wouldnt believe the car care products and
cleaning doohickeys in my garage. I usually have to wipe him up off
of the floor when he gets in my car.(In my defense, Mr. Sox doesnt
schlepp a zillion kids around.) He usually details our friends'
lease cars before they bring them back. I gotta admit they look brand
new.

guys like to be pampered too.

what about taking him for a pedicure? you get to benifit from that too.

my hubby forgets he has gift cards. a gift or taking him somewhere works best. i have done the car detailing idea. i took it in to have it done.
