I live in upstate NY and we have falls here that are named taughannock falls(I know not a town) It's funny to hear other people try to say it.

Alot, get it mixed up with Tunkhannock (a town) or they will say it like tawganawk. Hilarious. At least the local yokels think so.

Well, we did buy furniture in HIGH POINT, NC. That was pretty funny too. I couldn't stop giggling the entire time we were there, and all they do is sell furniture. While we were there we drove around a bit, and they also have a CLIMAX, NC! They may have us beat by a town or two.

Here are some others from my (Lancaster) county...

Blue Ball
Elm

Hopeland
Mount Joy
Mountville
Ninepoints
Peach Bottom
Smoketown
Willow Street

We seem to have a lot of unusual names.

Don't I know it!! I was in hospital for 3 months with a Coxsackie B virus and I nearly died. I was too sick to know much about most of it, but my (then) husband was told by the doc that my chances of survival weren't good at the time.
