Default Eat the pilot?

Maybe it's because I just had a cheese sandwich that I think this is interesting. I remember the movie "Alive" a long time ago about a plane crash and cannibalism. I spoke with my mom once and she's such a good catholic and wouldn't eat anyone *lol* I told her I would eat her first I mean.. with A1 or ketschup or something!

*lol* Ok.. I am really loopy since I didn't have a nap today, I hope I don't have a dream about eating people now but I wouldn't be surprised.
Would you do ANYTHING for your own survival? *grin* (even chomping on a friend? )

I do remember for my cultural diversity class talking about unusual things that people eat in other cultures. I am TOO picky to be eating bugs.. or anything funky like Rocky Mountain Oysters.. even watching my father eating the gizzards out of the turkey and liver makes my tummy churn.

(I bet some of you would be chewy.. just saying...)

Ok, so I am thinking to myself, why the pilot? Why not one of the passengers?

Logic would tell me that the most experienced person among the survivors would be the pilot. The pilot would be the one who would know how to use any salvageable avionics/radio equipment, survival gear aboard the airplane, be able to figure out where you were, and possibly be the one to know how to contact emergency personnel.

Then I read the article and the only DEAD person was the pilot. Tastes like chicken. Go ahead and eat.

It would depend who the pilot was. Some people just don't agree with me.

Why the pilot? Because in the story, he was the only dead body.

I'd wait till I couldnt wait any longer..which would probably be about a week and a hafl...and I'd have to be hundreds of miles from civilization with no hope of immediate rescue

Waiting for a few weeks, then I'd lose some weight before I'd have to eat. You dont want to be found 5 days after the crash, looking well-fed and in better shape than everyone else. Plus you'd have to explain where the pilot left. (uhh...he started walking?)

When the Donner party had their little picnic, there were two groups. One that ate the dead, and ones that didnt. The ones that didnt eat, were emaciated and weak. The ones that gobbled down the Soylent Green steaks were not. They looked healthy.

Once they were rescued, the people who were known to have eaten the Soylent Green, were not treated very well once they were no longer stranded.

But, then I would bet that everyone in the Donner party were all tarred with the same brush. Guilty by association.

The soccer team that was stranded (think it was the Argentine team) did what they had to to live, I dont fault them for that. I think they were stranded for several months. The longest time I've ever gone without food was when I had mononucleosis. I didnt eat for two to two and a half weeks. (throat was too sore)

You cant go all that long without eating before you're too weak to do much. I think they did the right thing, and from what I've read, they were very respectful to the dead before they started slicing them up.

People are kind of gamey, not very tasty. (I do NOT know that from experience)
