Default What do you do when brain fog makes you rude when you didnt intend to be??

This has to be the reason why I was just a complete moron on a crafting forum I go to.

My brain didnt make the connection on something, and I said something completely stupid and moronic, and totally rude to someone else (who, coincidentally also has MS) and she left that forum rightfully mad at me. (I posted a public apology to her, and emailed a personal one)

I just feel really really horrible right now...and cant get past how completely stupid I was. I dont get it...I wasnt a rude moron several years back. When did that part of my brain turn off (or get eaten by the MS trolls?)

I'm trying to not feel so bad that I'll go do something stupid or anything. I just dont understand why my brain apparently does not edit that crapola that comes out of my mouth or off my fingers when I type.

I just feel really bad about what I unintentionally did to that person. (apparently she's in the hospital) I have a bad feeling in my stomach now, like I want to be violently ill.

Does anyone know if the MS makes you a rude idiot...is that permanent? Is it something in my brain that got damaged forever, or is it like some of the other werid symptoms...does it ever go away for a time?

Ok, I think I'll go to bed, because if I obsess over this any more, I'll be stabbing myself in the eyes with a copaxone needle so that I cant do stupid crap like that again.

Aaacccckkkk! I hate that gut-wrenching feeling! I think we've all been there at one time or another, Erin.

Hopefully she will respond to your apologies very soon so you can rest easier.

I don't know if its the MS, but I do stuff like that from time to time. And yep, I obsess too.

At least you recognized your gaffe and made the effort to repair it.

Frequent dinner plans for Dejibo

Open mouth. insert foot.

I have been exactly where you are. The best thing you can do is sincerly apologize, and mean it. Extend your hand in an act begging for mercy, and lower you head while she bonks you on it.

then, you have to remember this day when someone else is mean and you think its out of character. dont be so quick to snap their heads off.

Lesson learned well in my corner of the world. I hope your friend forgives.

Everyone has a bad day once in awhile.
I hope she sees your apology soon and accepts it so you can both move forward.

She saw it, and accepted it. (whew!)

And so far, I was the only one who made the public apology. There were a couple other people who offended her. I think they havent seen that particular thread yet.

I guess I wont be taking the heavier pain medications for my shoulder that I hurt anymore. Brain is fuzzy enough as it is...I dont need stoned MS trolls messing me up any further.

Just wanted to let you know, Erin, you're not alone in this. I've done it too. Somedays I really feel like I've lost my filter. Still other times, I feel totally justified for saying what I've said, whatever it may be ( even after much thought and days later). At least we have an excuse, I guess. There are some people who are rude and have no excuse lol

I'm glad your friend forgave you. Try not to stress over it anymore.

I'm glad she accepted your apology. Been there, done that. All we can do is apologize, hope they accept it, and move on.

This is why I'm SO glad there is the "preview post" option we can use before we hit the "submit" button.

Tone and mood are so hard to read through the typed word.

Thank goodness for the smilie icons.....and the "edit" feature!!!

Oh the forum I was on when it happened, they dont have a Preview button. (they need one!) At least they have an edit and delete button tho.

I still feel bad. I unsubscribed myself from the forum where it happened...and the weird thing is, the person that was mad at me...she invited me to join her forum. I'm not sure if I want to do that yet. I think I'll be a lurker at both forums for awhile...at least until that thread rolls off their main page of posts.
