Smile Have to brag a little bit

I just got an email from my brother and his wife. She passed her testing and is now a certified critical care nurse as well as being promoted to head charge nurse for the critical care heart unit at Vanderbilt. They are so excited!

She has worked hard and is very much deserving of this. She's from Tokyo where she was a psych. nurse...when she moved here she not only had to learn English but had to go through all the schooling again. Graduated with honors from University of Tennessee.

She's my age and I'm jealous! LOL j/k I'm very proud of her and her accomplishments!

Here's a pic of them (my baby brother...he hates when I call him that lol)

As telemtry nurses they let us sit in on the courses for the critical care certification. We couldn't get it because we didn't take care of patients with ventilators. Hats off to her for completing it! Just sitting through the classes were enough. Getting my ACLS certification was tough. I'm glad I didn't have to go to the next step.

That's excellent news Suzyqz.

I worked in Critical Care until I retired from the workforce in September of last year, and I must admit I loved it. When I first started I felt a bit like Doydie though....getting that Advanced Life Support Certificate seemed so complicated at the beginning, but after that everything just fell into place.

Congratulations to your SIL, she's done a wonderful job.
