I wish I could cheer for the half year, but it's been a mixed one for me!
The fiscal year ended where I work yesterday. There was a notice on the office door. All it says is changes are coming in August. It's my understanding that the state is going to change the classification of the license where I work. The new license will mean less training and less money. It may also mean a loss of some benefits. No more information is available until August-Sept. So, that means I may be in trouble. I am at the top of the ladder in seniority. I retain the "old" insurance. You remember, the one that isn't HMO, PPO, managed care, etc? The GOOD insurance? Three people have been fired in the last week. They were all "old hands" meaning top of the ladder. I have a target on my back and a huge foot hovering over it. I already put in for my vacation time this summer and cannot take it back. If I had known about these changes and what they mean, I could have planned and saved some of my leave time for a cushion to land on when they kick me over the edge. I'm not going to obsess over it, the old man is doing that for both of us. I figure it will all turn out ok in the end, and we will live. The only thing that scares me is my insurance...sigh. I made an appointment to talk to a college planner Thursday...bleah. I have to get all my certs and classes and credits together and see what they will honor and what I can do. Anyone know what student insurance covers? Thankfully, the night shift is out of sight and hopefully out of mind.

Wow! I started this thread thinking it was going to be a good thing - possitive ending to a year that has not had the best start but reading everyone's post it didn't work that way!
I am sorry.... I hope the second part of the year is better for all of us!

July? To Sally, AMN and I that means we can put away the snow shovel for 3 weeks.
Or at least 2. We gotta get together ladies. I got a bottle of tequila with your name on it. Your name is Jose, right?

This really has been an OK year for me....July is and always will be a difficult month for me. Kevin's birthday is really the only bright spot in that month. But....it is what it is and I've learned to deal with it.
I dislike hot weather very much and since Georgia has such mild winters (usually) I'm looking forward to the cooler weather getting here. That's December for us.......
