Default Argh! Stupid internet worms!

My poor computer is being attacked by a nasty worm. (my laptop)

So, I've apparently got a problem. I dont know how to fix it, and I'm frustrated!!!

And my boyfriend who could have helped me, logged onto Skype awhile ago, and then logged off and hasnt logged back on to see if I need help. *grumble*

I'm guessing it's a denial of service attack, since I called the cable company, and they said they could see my modem and router, so the computer is capable of getting the internet, it's just being blocked by whatever is attacking my laptop's system.

Apparently Norton Antivirus isnt worth carp. It's doing nothing, and not finding anything other than to tell me that my computer is being attacked by a worm.

ARGH!! My computers are usually clean and free of nasty internet scum.

Interesting that the only computer of mine having a problem tonight is the only one that uses Norton. (other 2 computers use McAfee)

ok, I'm done venting.

If anyone knows how to fix this problem, please, I'll take suggestions.

I guess I'll go to bed...seeing as how my laptop isnt going to let me play with it tonight, and I cant exactly sleep next to the desktop computer to listen to Harry Potter cd's.

I also use McAfee, but Trend have a great online scanner that's totally free, and will fix any problems for you.

Here's the link : http://us.trendmicro.com/us/home/

I cant get the internet with my laptop at the moment. Everytime I try to log into my home page, that's when I get the message that the system has detected a worm...so then it blocks everything coming to my IP addy for the next half hour.

I shut down the computer's wireless card so that my computer can do a virus scan.

I'm pretty sure it's some sort of denial of service attack. I'm hoping my boyfriend can talk me thru fixing my laptop in the morning. I really dont want to pay Best Buy a bunch of money tomorrow to fix the laptop.

Right now I'm using my 5yr old laptop that has practically no programs on it. I'm seriously annoyed at the Google/Toshiba website right now. (that's the site that kept giving me the worm attack. The browser wont let me change the homepage, and no other browsers will open for me

I'm going to try to download McAfee to another computer tomorrow and see if I can transfer the program over to the laptop with a pin drive or something.
